Teaching Experience:
My experience to date, has involved teaching mixed ability classes at key stages 1 and 5, in mixed inner-city primary schools and comprehensives; more recently working on a one to one basis and in a larger group setting with children with medical needs, SEBD and children with SEN at key stages 1-5.
I have supported pupils with emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties, both on an individual and classroom basis, which has given me the opportunity to recognize the needs of SEN students. My most recent position as a teacher in a tuition centre, has enabled me to work on a one-to-one basis, whereby creating individualised learning programmes from IEPs for each child. The opportunity of being both a classroom practitioner and private tutor has enabled me to create differentiated resources and learning material for students with different learning abilities ranging from high attaining to EAL and SEN students. I have also been dedicated to developing a program to assess students of various abilities including those requiring additional assistance. Through the monitoring of students and their attainment, I have been able to pin-point under achievement and set specific targets in each case. In my assessment of students, I use various methods in order to cater for different learning styles which is paramount to raising achievement as well as confidence in students.

Tutoring Approach:
My desire and passion is for students to achieve their dreams whether that is getting an A* in an English exam or learning how to read and write. I believe that a teacher, who sincerely cares, is able to work with all kinds of students in a challenging way and bring change into their lives. These two words are by far the most strongest ever words that rule the world of possibilities and probabilities. Our day to day life revolves around these words, yet we stay quite unaware of them. We are pursuing the "Truth" behind every material, immaterial entity that we come across.

Even I'm a crusader in voyage of conquering the unknown. Well I had this knack of revealing the unveiled face since infancy. Though I believe Impossible and Improbable lures around, but my fight with them prevails. Every time I face such a situation, I find myself to win it out. Might be 'cause I know what the result will be. Might sound optimistic, but that's how I'm. I graduated in Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering (1998), also did MBA from Middlesex University (2005) . I have worked in Investment Banks as Business Manager, Project Manager, IT developer & Business Analyst.

Teaching Experience:
Since childhood I always liked Maths, Science and IT subjects. All modern advancements (computers, mobiles, wireless, internet, digital TV, emails) are gifts from these subjects. I always wanted to be in touch with the concepts. The only way I could find was to teach 11-16year old friends. I have taught GCSE level, A level students. They have achieved good scores in their results. I get personal achievement through their achievements.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe everyone is different (just like the fingers in your hand). I also believe in structure. Hence I prefer to adapt a study structure as per the individuals needs. About Elizabeth:
I have just completed my degree at Durham University, where I have spent the last 4 years reading French, History and Sociology. My interests lie mainly in the Middle Ages and Early Modern periods of history, but I am also an avid Modern European historian, and having studied it throughout my whole academic career thus far I am up to date with current school curriculum etc.

Languages have always been a passion of mine. I spent much time in France during my youth, including a one year exchange to a boarding school in St. Omer. Whilst the final year of my degree has included little French I have highly proficient oral and aural French.

I am a friendly, honest, and caring individual, who enjoys many of the same hobbies as my peers, however I do boast good communication skills, and being the eldest of four children has taught me much about communicating what are sometimes difficult ideas and concepts to people who perhaps don't have as good a grasp on them as I do. I am approachable and warm, and also highly dedicated and focussed. I truly am passionate about what I know, and always striving to find better ways to pass this knowledge on.

Teaching Experience:
In October 2003 I attended and completed a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course in Bristol. Whilst this course did not involve any hands-on teaching, it taught several different interesting and varied methods of teaching and was illuminating in that it gave me a few new ideas about planning and efficiency. Due to university commitments I never followed this course up, however the insight it gave me was invaluable.

At school I was appointed a house prefect in the Lower Sixth and Head of School (and Head of House) in the Upper Sixth. Whilst obviously this did not mean I became a teacher, both myself and my opposite Head Boy became by default fairly heavily involved in the roles of the gap students, which sometimes involved covering classes of up to 20 children for anything between 30 minutes and 2 hours. I have also recently been invited back on two occasions to teach some Medieval History to a group of 11 year olds, once in the ICT centre, once in a more traditional classroom setting. Whilst I found these experiences challenging to a degree, I relished them and truly enjoyed the bubbly, buoyant nature of the children.

Tutoring Approach:
I am extremely dedicated and believe firmly in efficient preparation. Essentially what this means is I am always prepared, and the work I do is largely individual. What this means is no universal lesson plans. Every person that needs a tutor has hugely different wants and needs, and probably a good idea of what they are from the very beginning. My approach seeks to integrate those individual wants and needs, and also to acknowledge the individual strengths and weaknesses, and incorporate those into any tutoring.
Effectively I am not averse to any teaching method at all. I myself was at times a particularly difficult person to teach, and I benefitted greatly from a hands-on personalised touch at school, as it allowed me to really explore areas I otherwise might not have been able to.

About Lucy:
I'm twenty-five years old and a native British English speaker. Having traveled and lived abroad, I understand the challenges facing learners of a foreign language, as well as what it means to strive to perfect one's native tongue. I have a degree in Philosophy and English Literature and work as a copy-editor as well as a tutor. I am also studying counseling at present. In addition to my love for the written word, I enjoy music, art and film and an keenly interested in psychology and health.

Teaching Experience:
My first formal teaching experience was in Thailand where I trained as a teacher of English as a foreign language in 2004, working with high school students. I then worked in France, teaching English to adults for the Chamber of Commerce in Grenoble. Here I worked with groups and individuals focusing on their particular language needs. Since then I have taught privately here in Edinburgh, working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. More informally, I have also worked with children in a childminding setting, helping with homework at a range of levels.

Tutoring Approach:
I aim to tailor sessions to the needs of the individual tutee, taking into consideration their language level, goals and interests to make the learning experience as enjoyable and rewarding as possible. I try to work with a range of materials to develop language in real-life contexts and working with both written and spoken language in a balance which suits the tutee.
