An extremely interesting book which has enabled me to achieve a broad-based overview of the enclosed subjects. The book itself was in excellent condition and extremely good value for money.

I ordered this item to revise for my GCSE history exam I only used the American west section as I had already done my Medicine through time exam..I thought that this revision guide was really good, there were lots of maps so you could see were the various battles took place. This is really helpful for someone like me who learns best when they can visualize what they are learning about.However I felt like there was not nearly as much depth as I would have liked on certain subjects...for instance cattlemen and cowboys..perhaps this is just because I was struggling with the topic but I really would have liked more info on the key people for this theme E.G Goodnight, Loving and Illif.One major complaint which refers to all CGP books is that the mini quizzes don't have any answers!!! I suppose the idea is that you write down what you think and then go back to the revision guide and find the answers yourself..Yes, this is a good idea but not when you can't find the answers or you are in pre-exam panic mode and don't have enough time!!The book was a bit battered, however I was expecting this as I bought it second hand.Overall, a good purchase however I had some minor complaints. I'll just have to see how effective it was on results day!

I am a history teacher, and i use this book as teaching notes for my lessons. I have used other's but they do not compare to this one. The book is bright and colourful which makes the text seem more interesting. It has some "humerous" captions to it but i don't find them funny, more cheesy, but this makes revsion seem not as dull. The notes in the book are detailed and accurate, as well as them being written in simple language so any learning ability can make good use of it's valuble notes.In conclusion if you need a revision book for your History GCSE exam, i stongly advise you purchase this one and if you revise correctly you can get a strong grade at GCSE!I wish all of you the best of luck!(^-^)
