Personal Description:

I am an experienced and committed secondary school teacher with a strong track record of helping students build confidence, clarity, and consistency in their learning. I specialise in breaking down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps and tailoring my teaching to suit each student's needs. I believe that progress comes from strong subject knowledge, clear explanations, and calm, structured support - particularly for students who may lack confidence or have previously struggled. My approach is supportive but high-expectation, helping students develop both academic understanding and independent study skills.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently a Subject Lead, where I have played a key role in transforming outcomes within my department. Since taking on this responsibility, results have improved significantly - rising from the low 50% range to 83% of students achieving grades 9-4, with outcomes expected to increase further. This improvement has been driven by curriculum redesign, targeted intervention, improved assessment practice, and a strong focus on exam technique and retrieval. Alongside whole-cohort teaching, I have extensive experience supporting students through focused intervention, exam preparation, and personalised support, which directly informs the way I tutor on a one-to-one basis.
