Personal Description:
I am a current Biology teacher with a vast amount of experience. I live in Troon, South Ayrshire with my husband and three kids! I have availability this year (2024-2025) for in person and online tutoring.
I have taught Biology for the past 8 years. I love my job as I get to pass on my enthusiasm for Science!
Teaching Experience:
8 years teaching experience from National 5 up to Advanced Higher Biology.
Excellent attainment in my classes.
Principal teacher experience, leading a Biology department and initiatives throughout a busy school.
Current SQA marker for National 5 and Higher assignments and exam papers.
Tutoring Approach:
I tailor my tutoring approach to fit each student's unique learning style, ensuring that my lessons are effective and engaging. By using past paper examples, I help students refine their exam techniques and become more comfortable with problem-solving. I focus on building the specific skills needed for Scottish Biology exams.
I offer both in-person and online tutoring, utilising tools like a writing pad to clearly explain concepts over the internet- something many of my students find particularly helpful. My friendly and approachable manner makes learning enjoyable and effective.
