Personal Description:

I'm available during the summer months (July and August) for face to face tutoring in all areas of Primary teaching. I am 25 years old from Cookstown, but recently moved to the UAE to teach. I would also be willing to have sessions online throughout the year if your child requires further support. My main subject is English which I plan for Primary 5, but I teach all subjects including Math and Science and enjoy teaching beginners phonics so I am available to teach all kids in any area from ages 3-11.

Teaching Experience:

I completed my Primary PGCE with Special Educational Needs in July 2022 and have been working as a Grade 3 (Primary 5) teacher in the United Arab Emirates this academic year. Although I have only been a qualified teacher for a year, I have experience working in all levels of primary education, mostly with children who have Special Educational Needs. My background in Psychology has been extremely helpful when it comes to supporting different children and understanding their individual needs. I also have experience teaching children who are English Language Learners.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching approach is positive and caring. I used positive reinforcement throughout my teaching and ensure to develop a good relationship with the child so that I have their trust which is key for a child to progress. I work with the child on the level they are at, not at the level they are expected to be at. Every child has a unique way of learning and they each need to be taken at their own pace. I can help them achieve their individual goals through positive support, guidance and care.
