Personal Description:

Hi, my name is Clint. I have been a Business Studies and Economics teacher for the past five years, working in a top Belfast Grammar School. I take pleasure in helping others achieve to their ability. My aim is to tailor my teaching/tutoring to the individual so that progress can be encouraged at the right pace.

Teaching Experience:

Since completing my B.Ed. in Business & Enterprise in 2019, I have been fortunate in gaining extensive teaching experience in a variety of schools. I have gained invaluable experience of using methods of differentiation in the classroom while teaching a variety of mixed ability Business Studies classes up to A2 and Economics classes to GCSE. I have also taught Professional Business Services, Business Communcation Systems and BTEC Business up to A2. These experiences have enabled me to have a more holistic understanding and approach to delivering the core principles of Business. Additionally, I have been teaching some KS2/KS3 English/Literacy, KS3/KS4: ICT, LLW and Games/PE.

I have also been involved in the running of both the Young Enterprise NI and the NI Business School Challenge programmes in my current school. Lastly, I have assisted in the running of a number of extra-curricular revision classes in relation to GCSE/AS/A2 Level Business Studies/Economics.

Tutoring Approach:

I find tutoring a truly satisfying profession due to the profound improvements which can be brought about in a student's academic attainment. It has also been great to build long lasting working relationships with students. Students learn better from people they like/respect and I feel my open and easy-going approach allows them to achieve success.

I am sharing my knowledge and expertise among students for the last five years to raise their learner's attainment and aspiration through face to face and online teaching.

As part of my tutoring approach, I focus on the key fundamentals that are imperative for success: enhancing time management skills, providing detailed resources, strengthening exam technique and boosting overall subject knowledge using everyday examples/relating to the curriculum.
