Personal Description:
I have 24 years teaching and 8 years leadership experience in secondary schools, sixth form and FE Colleges.
Having served as an examiner across GCSE and A level in all subjects offered to inform my everyday practice, I'm always looking to use the most up to date methods and information to help every learner.
Approachable and patient I like to coach and model for students to strengthen understanding and will adapt my style to suit. Equipping learners with skills to adapt, analyse and evaluate is key and what you can expect from me.
Teaching Experience:
Originally trained as an English secondary teacher and set up Media Studies and Film Studies from GCSE to A level in my centre.
Examiner for English Literature at GCSE and A level for OCR and AQA at various points in my career.
24 years teaching experience.
8 years leadership experience.
Led remote learning from March 2020.
I now teach in a Sixth Form College.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is patient, versatile and creative. I will always find a way to unlock understanding and facilitate the best pedagogical approach possible.
Creatively breaking down content and using retrieval and recall techniques, I like to build confidence for all relevant knowledge to be applied.
