Clarissa - Woodford Green tutor
Information About Clarissa:
Personal Description:
Have 11 A-C GCSE`s and 3 A Levels. I have two Masters degrees in the subjects I teach and have been in continual higher education for over a decade. I have an RTPI Accredited Masters in Town and Country Planning at University of Manchester (Russell Group University ranked 5th best in the UK), my thesis is available for public viewing in the Kantorowich library.
I recently graduated with a MSc in Transport Engineering Studies from Imperial College London (ranked 9th in the world in 2020). Alongside private tutoring, I am working towards my Chartership with the Royal Institute of Town and Country Planning.
Teaching Experience:
I can help students with Standard Attainment Tests (SATs) for 7,11,14 and 16+ as well as university level exams and adult learning. I study according to the syllabus but am equally confident specialising in areas not included in the curriculum and essay success. Currently I work online but typically provide a face to face service within a 15 mile radius (this area can be expanded at an additional cost).
Tutoring Approach:
I have been tutoring for more than two years and teach with personalised work plans, based on individual learning styles, I assess this using carefully designed questionnaires.
I teach with tools and techniques designed to improve retention of information, such as images, acronyms, mind maps, cue cards, rhymes/ patterns, presentations and even memory games to make learning fun and improve test performance, this has personally helped me with my exams.
I have experience running exam technique sessions and revision workshops (including small group sessions),which are particularly useful for GCSE, A level and graduate students.
