Information About Emily:


Personal Description:

I am a third-year English Literature student from the University of Exeter currently averaging a high 2.1. I am looking to explore teaching as a potential career path and earn some additional money during quarantine. I am friendly, hardworking and passionate about my subject with a particular interest in Gothic and Modernist literature.



Teaching Experience:

I have tutored my two brothers up to GCSE level but have focused primarily throughout my school career on writing, formatting and organising student publications.



Tutoring Approach:

With siblings who are dyslexic, I am aware that teaching should cater to the needs of every individual. Consequently, I shall examine what seems to be the biggest obstacle in reaching academic potential and work collaboratively with the student to improve this. This may be grammar, ineffective revision techniques or incoherent writing style. I shall also iterate the tremendous importance of catering towards mark schemes and fulfilling every specification outlined, whilst structuring essays clearly and succinctly.
