Teaching Experience:
Home tutoring began January 2020 in English and Maths with girls aged 6, 7 and 10. I moved online during the pandemic to be able continuing tutoring using Zoom, the preferred application for my ongoing degree course. I first started tutoring through my work as an Ofsted-Registered Nanny for a brother and sister, both with ADHD, from 2018 to 2019. I have been working with children since the age of 16 at New North Road Baptist Church and love to now be able to incorporate my study of English and Drama into my work.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to work with Zoom so I can screen-share worksheets and a whiteboard to help the tutee understand any concepts within the English and Drama fields they find more difficult. I use a comprehensive set of PowerPoint presentations to structure our time together by providing discussion points, revision ideas and a focus on the exams ahead. To that end, I also like to discuss with the tutee their individual experience of exams so as to support them in achieving their goals, calm any anxieties and keep an eye on stress levels so they are mentally prepared and capable for exam season.
