Rose - Poole tutor
Information About Rose:
Personal Description:
Hi, My name is Rose. I'm a 25-year-old scientist from Bournemouth, UK. I am extremely passionate about the environment. My primary interests and expertise are in the biodiversity and conservation sector. Through both my academic and personal endeavors, I have gained a fundamental understanding of the environment and hope that I will be able to further develop and guide other students.
I have completed a range of environmental-related modules including Marine Ecosystems, Sustainability in the Environment, Sedimentary systems and Earth and ocean processes. I, therefore, have the appropriate understanding and academic knowledge to support students who are studying Geology, Geography, and environmental focused subjects.
I was awarded the American elasmobranch diversity scholarship for 2018 and was a Wildlife blogger of the year finalist. I'm also very fortunate to say that I was recently awarded the 2019 Women in Shark Science (WISS) scholarship with the South African Shark Conservancy. I can't wait to work alongside other women scientists and influence the next generation of scientists.
Teaching Experience:
I have tutored for over a year now. I have lots of experience and knowledge.
In 2017 I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Marine Geography from Cardiff University. I then completed my Masters of Research at Southampton University (Grade: Distinction). I also have an A-level in Geology, Geography, and ICT (Grade B).
Tutoring Approach:
Every student is different. I'm a very patient person and always tailor my teaching approach to fit my students. My teaching method is unique for every student. During your first session, we will sit together and plan in detail what support you require.
Flashcards, practice papers, mind-maps, quizzes are some of the teaching methods I like to use. I am happy to find additional research to help the student and increase their confidence in the subject
