Originally from Scotland, now based in Belfast Northern Ireland.
Happily married, loves cooking, fashion, long walks by the beach and travelling as far as possible!
I have a passion for teaching, I come from a family of teachers & tutors - it's in my blood!
Teaching Experience:
10+ years private teaching experience
2 years working online daily as a Teaching Consultant (Chinese/Japanese students) for all ages and abilities- from teenage high school students just starting out with English to busy professionals who need to improve Business English/pronunciation/learn quirky British phrases to incorporate into their conversational English.
Tutoring Approach:
Lots of patience and smiling!
Friendly atmosphere where the student feels free to express himself and practice their spoken English - often this is their main concern and area of focus.
Throughout lessons I correct pronunciation, grammar and spelling - students really appreciate it.
I encourage questions and celebrate mistakes as a great way to learn!
Photographs, props, songs & videos are also used throughout lessons to make it fun and relate-able.
Love to talk with students about all sorts of things - culture, food, travel, fashion, books, TV shows, movies and life in general - this really helps them warm up before the class and bonds us into a good relationship going forward.
