Rebecca - Belfast tutor

Information About Rebecca:

Personal Description:

My name is Rebecca. I am a graduate in French and History from Queen's University, who is from and living in Belfast. Following my BA, I studied for an MA in Translation at the same university and received a pass with distinction. This allowed me to deepen my knowledge and understanding of French, a language I love and am passionate about. I have been using my French in my every day work for the last 5+ years.

Teaching Experience:

During my undergraduate degree I taught English as a Foreign Language to French high school and college students. This ranged from small groups (2-3 people) to larger groups of 15. I taught these groups independently from their normal classes and had autonomy over planning and teaching my lessons. In my current job I mentor trainees (mainly university students or recent graduates) on 3 to 6 month internships. This involves a lot of one-on-one work, training & teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

I have various approaches and styles and I like to help people learn. My main goal is to ensure that they will go away with a better understanding of their subject while also learning how to retain knowledge and apply it, analyse and think independently in future situations where they might need to do so. I am willing to adapt my style to individual students.
