Personal Description:

Responsible and dedicated teacher with excellent communication skills demonstrated by 20 years of teaching Religious Studies. I have experience as Head of Religious Studies, I have worked as an examiner for AQA and I currently exam for CCEA. My professional experience includes teaching courses from various exam boards and during my career I have successfully taught Short Course GCSE, Full Course GCSE, AS Level and A2 Level.
I currently offer tutoring for the following qualifications:
GCSE Level - AQA Board - Mark's Gospel - Christian Ethics.
GCSE Level - CCEA Board - Unit 2 - The Christian Church with a focus on the Catholic Church
Unit 5 - Christianity through a study of Mark's Gospel

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching style is always child centred. I try to adopt a variety of revision techniques in an effort to best meet the needs of the individual. I have developed my own subject notes and booklets that thoroughly cover the course material in an accessible manner. In preparation for the exam paper I coach students by working through past paper questions and their mark schemes. This allows the student not only to develop subject knowledge but to hone their writing techniques and become more realistic in their exam time management. I also set assessments based on the exam content and provide feedback that is informed by my experience as an examiner for the relevant boards.
