Information About Hannah:

Personal Description:

I am a friendly and approachable English language tutor for adults including university students. I have almost 10 years of experience teaching English as a foreign language to students age 18+ at college and university level. I have also taught and coached British and international students at Coventry University and Cardiff and Vale College, helping them improve their academic writing. Many of my students have gone on to study their chosen courses at university and/or pass their challenging academic coursework.

I am experienced in helping students with English as their first language and with English as an additional language. Whether you need English language lessons to develop your confidence in speaking English and improve your career prospects, or support with writing your college or university assignments, I can help you. My lessons are engaging and interesting and I aim to where possible use materials tailored to a student's particular interests.

Teaching Experience:

5 years experience teaching academic and general English at Cardiff and Vale College.
2 years experience teaching academic skills at Coventry University.
Almost 10 years of experience tutoring, coaching and mentoring students.

Tutoring Approach:

My aim in all tutoring sessions is to put my students at ease . I am very patient and want to help my students gain confidence in their own abilities. My General English sessions focus on speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. I also emphasize cultural aspects of the language to help my students get along better with life in Britain. In my academic writing support sessions, I will not just correct your writing. I aim to help students improve their own writing and gain skills and techniques to make writing a less daunting task.

Qualifications:

• Masters in English Language Teaching (distinction)
• CELTA qualification
• English Literature Degree (1st class honours)
