Information About Holly:

Personal Description:

My name is Holly and I'm currently reading English at Jesus College, Cambridge University. I finished with a 2.1 (with high 1st in dissertation) at the end of my second year, and I graduated from school in 2014, with 3 A* grades in English, Philosophy and History.

I understand that enthusiasm and personal understanding of each particular child, on the part of the tutor, is the means through which the child's highest possible understanding can be attained. At Cambridge we are entirely absorbed by the technicalities of our degree and so I live and breathe English and as a young undergraduate, I have all the enthusiasm for life, learning and English, that a tutor needs! Passing on my knowledge and enthusiasm for English would be an extremely enjoyable task.

I am applying for a masters following my undergraduate degree at Cambridge and then hope to enter into the publishing industry.

As a bonus, I am of course a student and so I can be flexible with my hours, as I know keeping a definitive time can be hard for both parents and children!

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as an online English tutor and proof reader for two years now, for students up to degree level. During a gap year I spent in Paris, I worked as an Au Pair, English teacher to local Parisian children and adults and completing a TEFL course. Thus, I am very used to working with children, especially those who don't have English as their first language or find it hard to understand.

I tailor completely toward your needs - whether you need help with specific ways of completing your English exams, aid with writing essays, reading and analysing texts, exam techniques, or a proof-reader for essays or coursework.
