Personal Description:

Freelance, published illustrator and private tutor.

I graduated from my masters in Illustration: Authorial Practice at Falmouth University with a Distinction in 2018. I studied fine art painting for my BA and have experience working as the art teacher at an independent school.
I currently work as a Support Consultant providing academic support to creative degree students on BA and MA courses in Kent and across the country.

Previously, I have worked in student support, as a specialist learning mentor and a learning support assistant at the University of the Creative Arts, Canterbury. I assisted on further education courses and also undergraduate courses in architecture, graphic design/illustration and fine art.

I have extensive experience helping students to prepare for university or to gain access onto a foundation course, helping with coursework and portfolio and interview preparation.

I have a current DBS (CRB) check and hold a first aid at work certificate.

I also work as a freelance illustrator and designer. I offer tuition in art and design. I have taught these subjects from entry level up to A-level in a school environment.

I have 20 years experience in private tutoring and have a broad knowledge of working with students with various specific learning differences.

I am friendly, organised and aim to provide relaxed, student lead sessions.

My interests are mainly with illustration, book making, photography, painting, interior design, textiles and drawing.

I have working knowledge of the Adobe creative suite, mainly in Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator and InDesign.

Taught Art and Design and Photography - Entry level to A-level.

Trained Arts Award Advisor - Bronze award.

Taught Child Development - GCSE and Entry Level.

SEN experience with students from ages 11-20 within a school, college and university setting.

Mentoring experience from foundation to Masters students.



Tutoring Approach:

To provide relaxed, student led sessions, which aim to equip students with confidence in their new skills and knowledge, which will enable them to advance in their education.
