Personal Description:
I returned to teaching sixteen years ago after working as a statistician for eighteen years.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught maths one-to-one, in small groups and in whole classes at secondary schools and further education colleges, covering all ages up to A level. I have also taught adults under the 'lifelong learning' scheme.
Tutoring Approach:
I enjoy explaining maths at all levels of ability and get real satisfaction from connecting at the student`s level. I believe I`m good at recognising what that level is and being able to adjust my explanations accordingly. I`m pretty relaxed and like my students to feel comfortable during our sessions. My approach is to identify areas of weakness, explain concepts from basics, then do some questions till confidence is achieved.
