Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher based in St Helens, Merseyside, currently teaching Mathematics and Further Mathematics at a private college. I obtained my degree in Pure Mathematics and then completed my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics. I have an enhanced DBS certificate and I am available to tutor A-level Mathematics, A-level Further Mathematics and undergraduate Mathematics.
I am able to tutor within a 15 mile radius of St Helens, my hometown, and I am possibly available near Manchester city centre where I work.
Teaching on a one-to-one basis means that the individual needs of the student need to be met. I strive to get the best out of each student and work towards developing the students understanding, allowing them to see the progress they are making and in turn building their confidence.
Please note:
Most university modules are charged at £40 per hour, although some second and third year modules are £45 per hour depending on difficulty.
You can block book 10 lessons with a 10% discount.
Teaching Experience:
I am currently teaching A-Level and undergraduate Mathematics and Further Mathematics in a private college. I have previously worked in a popular local secondary school and I have taught mathematics at most levels through my career. I have tutored students on a one-to-one basis across most educational levels from entry level right up to undergraduate mathematics and have gained excellent results and feedback. Throughout my teaching experience I have received excellent feedback for the way I provide individual support to my students, allowing them to greater understand what is happening and master mathematical techniques.
I have recently completed the MEI courses Teaching Further Mathematics 1 (94%) and Teaching Mechanics 1 (100%) and this year I completed Teaching Further Mathematics 2 (94%) and Teaching Mechanics 2 (91%) which has allowed me to further develop my subject knowledge.
I have also worked as an assistant examiner, marking A-level papers for the past four years. I have also marked the International Baccalaureate higher tier and Cambridge International Examination P3 paper.
