I can offer face-to-face tuition in the Leeds-Bradford and central Wakefield areas of West Yorkshire. But my availability can easily change. I prefer not to teach on weekday mornings.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a tutor since October 1990 and have experience of teaching privately in people's homes, in Further Education Colleges, Tuition Centres, Community groups like family History Societies and (since November 2005) for the Workers Education Association. This work has bought me into contact with people from a wide diversity of ethnic and social backgrounds. I have also done live performance poetry and am a published poet. I have participated in the Headingley and Ilkley Literary Festivals. I can also offer online tutoring.

I also have a broad cultural experience based on visits to such countries as France, Belgium, Slovenia, Ireland, Spain, Morocco, Italy and Turkey. I am especially familiar with different aspects of European and Asian Culture.

Tutoring Approach:

As a Tutor I prefer to: -
• Draw upon a wide range of knowledge, skills and experience
• Relate to students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
• Teach an unusually broad range of subjects to a high level
• Use a whole range of teaching methods, dating from Ancient times until the present day
