Personal Description:
I have a Doctorate in Mathematical Physics, and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education in 2012. I have a strong physics and mathematics background, as well as a lot of chemistry knowledge. I am familiar with the Northern Ireland curriculum through the PGCE as well as from tutoring my own children in maths and science.
Teaching Experience:
I undertook two teaching placements during the PGCE year, one at a junior high school and the other at a secondary grammar school. I also took an undergraduate maths class at university while completing my doctorate.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that many pupils find maths and science difficult because they perceive them to be difficult subjects. Once given some extra tuition and having things explained in more detail, I am confident that almost all pupils can learn the knowledge and develop the necessary skills to master these subjects.
