Personal Description:
I am an experienced private English tutor currently working in the Leiston, Saxmundham and Aldeburgh area of Suffolk, and I am able to tutor students from foundation to post GCSE. I can offer tuition in areas such as: spelling, essay writing, exam preparation, revision techniques and grammar and composition. In addition I can also provide tuition to adult learners and this can range from CVs to general English. I have a strong background in both mainstream and private education settings, and I have worked extensively with students who require additional learning support.
Teaching Experience:
I have worked in both mainstream and private schools tutoring one-to-one, small groups and full classes. I have successfully worked with students of all abilities in both English and post 16 vocational subjects. I also have substantial experience in SEN both in small groups and one-to-one. I also have considerable experience of dyslexia and have studied this at postgraduate level. In addition I am able to provide additional services such as visual stress screening.
Tutoring Approach:
I offer tuition on a flexible basis and provide a free consultation to assess the needs and requirements of the student. I will provide a scheme of work and I like to set regular opportunities for parents to discuss their child's progress. In addition to my tutoring I also offer advice on appropriate materials that can be used independently.
