Information About Rohit:
Personal Description:
I am currently working with Rolls-Royce Plc on their commercial jet engines and studying Aerospace Engineering at University.
I am highly motivational, which is evident from my motivational blogs and talks. I keep myself up to date with the current school curriculum for maths and sciences and understand the subjects very well. My main strength is mathematics and physics up to university level, however my ability for biology is up to A Level and chemistry up to GCSE.
In my spare time I am training and representing the UK around the world in international tournaments for Kung Fu. This is something I have dedicated my life to since the age of five.
Teaching Experience:
I have been in the tutoring industry for almost two years now and have also taken up peer mentoring at my university, called PASS.
I am also a National STEM Ambassador, whereby I go into schools and support events for children and young adults to show them that Science,Technology,Engineering and Mathematics is fun. This is something relatively new I have taken up.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is to take the coaching approach. With the experience I have developed overtime with tutoring different students I realize that both the student and the tutor require the right mindset for their to be good progress.
I see that it is important to get the student to do his/her own thinking and working and asking the right questions.
I.e. so building on what he or she already knows, to enable them to compare concepts with other concepts (especially for physics), connect the material to his or her personal experience and finally another important approach is to be able to apply concepts to new situations or problems.
There will always be focus on examinations and assessments best practice and guidance when the student has asked for it.
