Personal Description:

I am a 36 year old male who lives in the Wirral. I previously taught in Liverpool for 11 years before moving to a new role in the Wirral. I have a 2.1 (hons) in Biology and Geography from John Moores University whilst I attained my teacher status after studying for a PGCE in Geography at Liverpool Hope University. I enjoy a range activities and of those related to my work I particularly enjoy the outdoors whilst I also have an extensive knowledge of local fieldwork sites and techniques.

Teaching Experience:

I'm an enthusiastic an well qualified teacher who has been teaching Geography and a range of other subjects including Maths, Science, Travel and Tourism and World Development across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 for the last 13 years. I have an excellent track record for exam success and have experience of Edexcel, AQA, WJEC and OCR specifications whilst I have also worked for WJEC as a moderator and Edexcel as an examiner.
I worked in my previous school in Liverpool for 11 years where I covered a range of roles including Head of Geography. This role has helped give me a great insight into preparing tutees for a wide range of public examinations.
I am now in my second year at a new school in the Wirral where I have lead responsibility for the A level Geography course in addition to teaching the majority of GCSE Geography classes.

Tutoring Approach:

I have tutored GCSE and A Level students for the last 12 years in addition to teaching these classes within my schools. I provide extensive, original and appropriate resources for each student I tutor whether these be paper or electronic based. I have an excellent understanding of a range of specifications and use these as a tool to ensure my students get effective and efficient tutoring which maximises their chances to be successful. I have also been employed by Liverpool John Moores University to run their AS Level Geography revision days each year.
I am very flexible in terms of times and days that I can tutor and am also prepared to offer some discount for block sessions.
