Chris - Ascot tutor
Information About Chris:
Personal Description:
I graduated from Oxford University with a First Class honours degree in Geography, and have since been both a private tutor and fundraising executive for a global charity for street children. I was the Deputy Head of the Boarding House at the Royal Grammar School High Wycombe. I am a very keen sportsman, having represented my school, university college and club's cricket 1st team. I averaged over 90% in my A levels, including 100% in AS Geography and 98% in A2 History. I provide a strategic and effective approach to both general learning as well as more specific exam and revision techniques. In the run up to exams, I offer specialist technique-based advice and support, that have been proven to improve grades by several levels.
Teaching Experience:
For the last four years I have been tutoring English, Geography, History and French to a wide range of over 120 individuals and groups of all abilities, aims and ages (from 5-50 years old). In the last year alone, I have provided over 950 hours of tuition. I have worked with many students on their university applications, helping them with university and subject choices, and especially with personal statements and interviews. I particularly specialise in Oxbridge application advice and support, with several successful recent applicants. I received university and national awards for my dissertation, and have since worked closely with students on their dissertations, one of whom has just received the highest mark at the university and has subsequently been submitted for a national prize.
I also offer short or long term international tuition services, having worked in Italy and the Bahamas on tutoring projects.
Tutoring Approach:
I am very flexible and can adapt my tutoring style to the needs of each individual. Whether your particular needs are factual and syllabus related, or if it's your exam or revision technique that you're looking to improve, then we can work together to create a highly successful and enjoyable study programme to ensure you achieve your full potential.
