Information About Lucy:

Personal Description:

I am a easy going and friendly 28 year old female Year 1 teacher at a local primary school. I am also an experienced tutor. As well as gaining my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE Primary) from Cambridge University, I also have a 2:1 degree in Psychology from Loughborough University.

Teaching Experience:

I am a fully qualified teacher with QTS status. I am currently teaching a Year 1 class, however I have taught in Year 6 and Year 2. I also have a wide range of experience with children throughout the primary level in various different schools, including 1:1 work. As well as my classroom role, I have also held the position of Humanaties Co-ordinator (History and Geography) and science co-ordinator. I am also on the extended leadership team. I have also had a lot of experience with children with Special Educational Needs, including Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD and Down Syndrome, during my teaching career where I have held the position of SENCO and through 1-1 work carried out before. As a am still a full time teacher I am up to date on all the latest approaches, strategies and methods. I am also able to assess and level your child accurately.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that every child is an individual learner and therefore they need a personal and tailored tutoring experience. As I am working with a large mixture of children every day I am very capable of adapting to their individual needs. I believe that learning should be fun if the child is to engage with the process fully. My aim is to allow your child to achieve their full potential, which every child is capable of with the right teacher. I am willing to teach your child in a group or individual setting, which ever suits yours and your child's needs best.
