Kirsty - Birmingham tutor
Information About Kirsty:
Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher and parent living and working in Birmingham. I also studied for entrance exams myself aged 10-11 so I have some experience of both sides of tutoring. I enjoy working with young people and am approachable and patient. I love technology and use a variety of websites, apps and games to enhance my teaching and learning which match my students interests and objectives.
Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified teacher working in Birmingham, and have been teaching over ten years in middle, primary and special schools. My specialist areas are maths, science and computing.
I love my job as a teacher and I believe passionately in the importance of education.
Iam a trained 1-2-1 tutor and have delivered 1-1 in schools with students needing extra support under government funded initiative. I have up to date knowledge and experience of the best teaching models available to help children fill in gaps in their understanding and catch up with their peers.
I have lots of experience of working with children with special educational needs, particularly children on the autistic spectrum and children with ADHD so I am able to tailor tuition for children with SEN based on their needs to make learning enjoyable and make it work for them.
I am currently working towards my MEd at the University of Birmingham.
Tutoring Approach:
I am flexible in my approach and will discuss parents and children's requirements to come up with a programme of study which meets your goals and suits your child. I will work with your child to asses their strengths and weaknesses and communicate fully with parents/carers about the pupil's progress. I am happy to set homework as necessary. Please contact me if you need to discuss your requirements further.
I am happy to work remotley to support your child's education during school closures - I have a range of interactive ways of working with children online and would be happy to work with you to find an approach that works for you and your child.
