Information About Javier:
Personal Description:
I am a highly Creative Training Consultant. I come from Spain and during the last 6 months I have been improving my English in Brighton. With a post-degree in Creativity and Education and a degree in Economics, I have developed my own tutoring style based on building trust, stimulating curiosity for subjects, creating responsibility and getting the best of IT tools.
I am flexible, patient, good listener and empathic as a tutor.
With 6 years delivering training workshops, teaching skills and behaviours for young people and business companies too.
Besides of this, I worked as a Campaigning and Media Coordinator in Oxfam Spain (Intermn Oxfam), leading a group of 20 volunteers and forward planning of projects/development of campaign strategies of Oxfam.
I consider myself a responsible and friendly person. Organized, assertive, extremely competent and with an excellent rapport with people of all ages.
Teaching Experience:
2006-2008: Teaching and facilitating GSCE and University groups for Oxfam Spain (Education Department) and Senior Consultant in Interpersonal Skills, having worked with this business companies: ORANGE, BANK OF AMERICA, LAR GROUP, MONDRAGON CORPORACIN COOPERATIVA, RENAULT, JOHN DEERE, AIRBUS, MERCER HUMAN RESOURCES.
2001-2006: Campaigning and Education Coordinator in Oxfam Spain. Representing Oxfam to external contacts at universities of Madrid (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad Autonma de Madrid) and training groups in Development and Economic subjects.
1999-2001: As a freelance, teaching Creative Writing, Communication Skills and "How to develop your Creativity" Workshops
Tutoring Approach:
I consider that the act of learning has to be well planned and focused on the student needs.
I structure my tutoring sessions by employing a variety of materials and strategies to accommodate students varying interests, abilities, learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
Because I believe that a balanced, integrated approach to tutoring activities benefits student by creating a supportive environment, providing access to a variety of reading and writing materials, and instilling a passion for learning.
