Eleanor - Nottingham tutor

Information About Eleanor:

Personal Description:

I am 17 and currently a student studying my final year of A level's in Geography, Business Studies and RE. My long-term aim is to attend university and do a degree in Primary Education to enable me to teach in a primary setting. I am a hardworking and committed student, with a great interest in volunteer work and children. This year I was awarded a volunteering award for commitment and effort as a volunteering leader, working with deprived children. One of my other achievements was achieving an 'A' grade in Maths GCSE two years early. I am a friendly, patient and caring person with a good command of the English language.

Teaching Experience:

I undertake three volunteering positions every week, involving children and their learning

I volunteer for the department of Health in Hyson Green every week, working with immigrant children aged 7-14, helping them learn the English Language, English culture and with their academic studies.

I also participate in a paired reading scheme, helping children aged 11-13 with their reading skills and confidence. Next year I have been chosen to lead this programme.

I am also a confirmation Catechist, and lead a group of five 11-14 year olds each week, teaching them the Catholic ethos and working around biblical studies.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is being patient and understanding. I am clear and precise and do not get easily frustrated.
