Personal Description:
I have a first class honours degree in history from Sheffield University(1987) and post graduate qualifications in law (1988-89). I qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and have worked in private practice and in industry for the past 20 years. I am currently completing a Masters degree in the Law of Employment Relations at Leicester University.
Teaching Experience:
I have tutored for the past 10 years in subjects ranging from Law (up to post graduate level) to History and Economics (from GCSE to degree level). I have also tutored in English Literature and American Studies, from GCSE to degree level.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is one of academic pragmatism. I ensure my students have a proper understanding of their subject. I teach them effective revision techniques (including 'mind maps') and efficient essay writing skills. I aim to instill a confidence in their knowledge of the subject matter and in their abilities to communicate successfully in examinations.
