Personal Description:
I consider myself to be a conscientious, hard working and adaptable person with a positive outlook on life. I am outgoing and like to meet new people as well as keeping a close set of friends. I am loyal and supportive to family, friends and students and always make time to listen to any problems that they may want to share.
I have a current CRB check.
Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified teacher with over 20 years experience teaching English and Maths from key stage 1 to GCSE. I am also a trained counsellor, which I have found invaluable in building up self-esteem, increasing confidence and dealing with exam nerves. This has resulted in my students gaining higher grades than they would otherwise have achieved.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that learning is strongly influenced by motivation, I see one of my primary functions as motivating students to develop enthusiasm and a positive approach to learning. My role is also to set high standards will stretch potential to the maximum, as students will tend to give what is expected.
