Personal Description:
I am a 23 year old qualified teacher, just having completed my PGCE from Oxford University. I completed a BA in geography at University College London and am happy to tutor geography up to any level, as well as providing general advice on preparing for exams and university applications. I have a tremendous enthusiasm for my subject, which spurred my initial interest towards teaching. I am eager to help young people to understand any difficulties that they are experiencing in geography and am keen to help them reach their full potential.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught in two schools during my teacher training. Both, were extremely different and have given me different perspectives on teaching and learning styles at a variety of age ranges. Throughout my training, I have attempted to provide guidance and support and to improve the students' self-confidence in their geographical abilities. The PGCE has taught me to break down concepts and methodological processes, interact with students and hopefully, to inspire them to continue into higher education and with their geographical studies.
Tutoring Approach:
The ongoing intellectual stimulation, potential creativity and sheer variety within the profession have reinforced my commitment to teaching. My students' success in their exams has only served to emphasise my desire to work with young people and to further articulate my passion for geography by breaking down and presenting complex information in interesting ways and targeting it according to the abilities of the student.
