Born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1981, Andreas started his classical guitar studies at the age of seven, under the tuition of Anastasios Amiridis. He completed his guitar diploma at the Municipal Conservatory of Thessaloniki in 2002 receiving the highest mark.

Andreas then continued with his education obtaining a Bachelor and Master's degree in music from Ionian University of Greece. He has also a Postgraduate title from Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria.

There have been many famous and distinguished guitarists that Andreas studied with or attended master classes such as Leo Brouwer, Eliot Fisk, Ricardo Gallen, Jorge Morel, Ε. Αsimakopoulos, Marco Tamayo, Costas Cotsiolis, David Russell.

Andreas has accomplished many goals within his musical career. He has won several National and International contest prizes. He was invited as a soloist in many festivals like the 4th Congress Association of Southeastern Guitarists, Naxos Guitar Festival, Evangelos Asimakopoulos guitar festival in Patras etc.

He has performed as a soloist guitar player as well as accompanied by Chamber music or by Orchestras. One of Andreas career highlights came in October 2008 when he played in Athens Concert Hall with the Athens Camerata-string Orchestra in front of HRH Princess Irene of Spain.

Since 2008 he has begun making his own transcriptions of works by composers of the wider musical repertoire on the guitar. As of July 1st 2010 the release of his first personal CD called "Classical Styles for Today" is ready for purchase.

Teaching Experience:
Since 2010, I have been tutoring in the academic subjects Maths and the individual Sciences; Biology, Chemistry & Physics.

I have taught at both primary- and secondary-school levels, with my students ranging between the ages of 6 and 16.

I can also help with entrance examinations for secondary school (including verbal and non-verbal reasoning), and I have provided mentorship and coaching when it comes to UCAS application forms, personal statements and CV writing.

Whilst I enjoyed some of the subjects at school, certain subjects and topics (including Maths!) didn't come naturally to me. I achieved 7A*s and 5A*s at GCSE, and went on to study Biology, Chemistry & Maths at A-Level.

Tutoring Approach:
As I have already mentioned, I have a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology and my tutoring approach is a student-centred one. My experiences covers tutoring, mentoring and coaching and I use a combination of the three in my work.

I am yet to come across a student who doesn't possess the potential to improve. More often than not, it is the large class sizes at school, or a teacher whose approach isn't the right fit, which explains why a student doesn't understand a particular subject, or particular topics within that subject.

Through the 1-to-1 work I do with students, not only have I witnessed some remarkable grade improvements but also some amazing transformations in confidence. I strongly feel that the work I do is more than merely improving grades for exams.

⭐ My philosophy is that if you are struggling with a particular subject or topic, it's not your fault and there's nothing wrong with you. My passion for mathematics developed from a young age. My school education initially fuelled this interest, as my primary and secondary teachers, and the resources that they provided were excellent. After leaving school, I studied engineering and computing for two years although I inevitably returned to my favourite subject and completed a sandwich degree in mathematics in Dundee. This included a year's I.T. work experience in Berkshire and Lancashire. After graduating I gained a further year's I.T work experience in Chester and Warrington. This was followed by a Post Grad in Software Engineering in Dundee. Yet again, the pull of my favourite subject was too strong. It was then that I completed a Post Grad in Education for secondary mathematics in Glasgow. This included teaching mathematics in two of the local schools. After graduating, I taught in a further two schools back in Dundee. In 2004 however, I chose to dedicate my time to full time private tuition in mathematics as further explained in my experience.

Teaching Experience:
From a young age, I have always enjoyed helping family members and friends with school maths. I have also enjoyed helping various people in further education. During my mathematics degree, I supported an adult learner for a college qualification. Since 2004 I have worked as a full-time maths tutor for all ages and abilities. This unsurprisingly has mainly consisted of supporting primary and secondary school children for all maths levels, but also adult learners who have requested my help with maths qualifications relevant to their own trades.
