I am Marwa, a native Arabic speaker from Egypt. I have over 13 years of experience teaching Arabic language and Holy Quran for non-natives. I used to dive in this amazing language to taste its beauty and discover its treasures. This passion led me to change my career as a software engineer to be an Arabic teacher. And it was the best decision I ever had. Teaching Arabic is not just a job for me, it is a life where I can share my passion and guide others to live, love and learn Arabic language. It is also a window to the world so that we can share our cultures and better understand humanity. As well it is my great pleasure to support others and help them achieve their goals in learning Arabic language.

I teach Modern Standard Arabic, Colloquial/Spoken Arabic, Quranic Arabic and The Holy Quran. I teach all levels (Novice- Beginners- Intermediate- Advanced) and all ages (children and adults), online, one to one and in groups. I always try to be the ideal teacher that I wish for myself. Thanks to my long experience as a teacher and also as a language learner, I understand the challenges of learning a new language, the qualities and skills a true teacher should have, and how important it is to put myself in the student's shoes to see their point of view and think in their native language.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Ain Shams University (2003-2007), and during my undergraduate studies I was working as a journalist and writer for a popular Egyptian magazine. During my 5 years of experience in software testing and quality engineering, I was also doing my second undergraduate degree (2009-2012) so I got a BA in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies from Cairo University, where I also got a certificate to teach Arabic as a foreign language in 2012. Also I wrote many short stories and novels. And I won the best short story award from the Egyptian Writers Union in 2009.

During my 13-year journey, which has started in October 2012 and is still ongoing, Alhamdulillah, I have been fortunate to teach more than a thousand people from different countries of the world. I would really like to thank each and every one of you for your trust in me, the precious time you have shared with me, and the way you have enriched my life and helped me become a better teacher and a better human being. I can't forget my youngest student, the beautiful four-year-old girl, when she told me "I love you, Marwa"; my oldest student, the wise eighty-year-old man who shared impressing life lessons with me; the man who, ten years after I taught him, contacted me again so I teach his children; the lady who wrote a wonderful short story in Arabic; the one who wrote a beautiful Arabic poem; the student who I have helped to become an Arabic language teacher; those who I have taught from scratch till they have reached fluency; those who shared with me the most beautiful moments of their lives when they reverted to Islam and said the Shahada for the first time with me; those who shared with me their own dreams and how difficult they were and then a few years later contacted me to tell me with great joy that their dreams had come true; and those who have been very close to me.

Alhamdulilah I am very pleased and proud to say that I have taught school, high school, and university students and different professions such as teachers, translators, diplomats, journalists, doctors, nurses, engineers, developers, managers, businessmen, researchers, lawyers, accountants, consultants, officers and artists. I have trained two actors from USA and Australia in their roles to pronounce some Arabic phrases perfectly. I have also trained an Arab-American astronaut on the Arabic-language interview she had to do with a popular channel. I have been chosen to teach an ambassador's son and another ambassador's children. I am proud too that I have taught many new Muslims and a lot of who are interested in learning and understanding Quran and Islamic studies. I have also taught many people who enjoy traveling to Arab countries and love their cultures. I have helped a lot of people in their professional lives such as those who work with Arabs or have Arab clients, and those who work in Arab countries. I have also helped a lot of people in their personal lives, such as those who have an Arab husband or wife or Arab friends or family. As well, I have translated a lot of articles, papers, research papers, and the interfaces and contents of some websites and applications into Arabic. And I have edited and proofread some of the Arabic articles in different topics for some newspapers and magazines.

I believe that every student is unique, so I create a customized and well-structured course according to my students' level, needs and goals. I also support my students and help them to practice the language skills (writing, speaking, listening & reading). Some like to focus more on speaking and listening, others on grammar, and others on reading or writing, so my role is to cover and meet their needs, focus on the required skills and guide them along the way to achieve their goals in learning Arabic language. I also use a wide range of learning materials and give different activities for homework assignments. And I do a small revision in beginning of each lesson and give tests frequently. I also like to share with my students some aspects of Arabic culture, customs & traditions.

I'm an experienced stage and television actor with a degree in English (2.i) from Trinity Hall, Cambridge and a 2-year post-grad qualification from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. I live in central London (Westminster) and enjoy balancing out the right brain activities of acting with the rather more left brain activities of teaching - especially Latin, which I studied through A-Level to degree, taking a Latin translation and literary criticism paper in Part 1 of my Cambridge Tripos.

I have taught both privately and at a range of different schools and colleges for many years. My private client base has principally been in teaching Latin for Common Entrance and GCSE. In terms of classroom experience, I have worked as a supply Latin teacher at Eaton House Schools and as an A-Level English Tutor at Collingham Tutors. I prefer classes to be carried out in small groups, or ideally, one to one.

I use the `5 whys?` approach to prompt student to think by themselves and work towards the answer rather than just relying on the tutor to give them the answers.

My experience covers helping students of all ages [from primary to adults] and from all backgrounds. I have a good sense of humour, and I am used to teaching in groups and in 1:1 situations.

I have been coaching students in science and maths for over 35 years. Post-16 I have extensive specialist background in chemistry for Edexcel, OCR and AQA at AS and A2, including Salters, A-level plus I have experience of the International Baccalaureate, PreU, and supporting vocational courses and home schooled students. For many years I ran and organised the UK International Chemistry Olympiad competition to pick the UK delegation for the International Competition.

I have supported students in chemistry, biology, physics [as triple or double science, for the AQA, Edexcel and OCR syllabuses] and maths at GCSE/IGCSE for many years and helped with Independent School entrance, both for scholarship and Common Entrance exams. I have also supported students studying for equivalency testing for career development or foundation courses for university.

In recent years online I have tutored students across the UK and internationally. Locally, I have tutored GCSE, A-level, IGCSE, and IB students from Sidmouth College, Colyton Grammar School, Exeter School, Exeter College, Exmouth Community College, Richard Huish College, The King's School, St John's School, Honiton Community College, The Maynard School, The Woodroffe School, Churcher's College, Torquay Boys Grammar School and Torquay Girls' Grammar School. Nationally I have tutored students from Eton College, Winchester College, Oundle, Wickham Abbey, Bedford School, Christ's Hospital, Northampton High School, Northampton School for Girls, King Edward VI School, Southampton, and King Edward VI School, Birmingham. I also have worked with many international students in Spain, China, Singapore, South Korea, the US, Middle East and Canada.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach is to boost a students` confidence in a relaxed environment resulting in greater success and self-belief which results in more enjoyment and success in the subjects being studied.

In-between sessions students can contact me by email or telephone for support with exam questions or school work at no extra charge rather than waiting until the next meeting.

My main teaching slots are on weekdays and in the evenings. Since 2020 I have focused on online teaching and I am now recruiting students for the 2025/26 academic year.

I have a few evening slots that are available alongside earlier daytime slots that may suit A-level students or students based outside the UK.

My name is Kieran and I am an enthusiastic English student currently studying at Loughborough University. I have worked in the theatre for around eight years and am therefore incredibly confident and easily approachable. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at school and always thought about the prospect of teaching or tutoring so that I could pass on my knowledge and love for English to those who perhaps need some extra help in reaching those top grades at GCSE and AS level. My age also allows me to empathise with current GCSE and A-Level students as it was not long ago that I sat those exams myself. Tutoring Approach:
I have a very relaxed attitude towards tutoring as I believe this is the best environment to learn. Students will bring current school work with them to the session and we will work through any problems or issues that they are struggling with. As well as this, I will prepare literary examples and worksheets if students give me notice as to what they wish to study during the coming session. I am completely dedicated to helping and supporting those who need an extra push during exams or even just wish to receive extra guidance within the field of English Literature.

Highly experienced working teacher/examiner ,100% grades A*-C for GCE and grades 4-9 for GCSE, with 80% of tutees consistently reaching the upper bands. All levels catered for. DBS checked.

As I am qualified and experienced to teach four subjects: English literature and language, Drama/Theatre Studies, French and German, up to and including A level, I am in a position to offer students on alternate weeks tutoring in two or three subjects if required.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching at secondary and university level for over 25 years, my secondary school experience ranges from state schools to prestigious independent. I am an Edexcel GCE examiner and hold upper threshold status. Despite being a trained secondary teacher, I have in recent years had great success preparing students for 11 and 13 plus English exams, one such student won the English scholarship to attend Harrow public school.

Tutoring Approach:
Lessons are created to meet the exact requirements of the examining board the student is following and or their precise learning needs. Students with special needs and or English not as a first language, can also be catered for. Homework is given and is expected to be completed. I teach week day evenings and Saturday mornings via Zoom or in person.
