I'm a native English speaking tutor in the Westminster/Victoria area with a university degree in English Literature and Creative Writing.
I developed a love for reading at an early age, which eventually expanded to writing as well, and which led me to study English Literature and Creative Writing at university. I started off teaching English in Japan, but through a strange turn of events ended up in the Financial Industry, where I worked for over a decade. However, through the process of tutoring my own son, and then his classmates and friends, I re-discovered my passion for English, and teaching, and decided to pursue it as a career. Tutoring Approach:
I am flexible in my approach and am happy to adapt to any student's needs. I look to work on all aspects of a student's approach, including revision technique, writing style and exam preparation. My preference is for committed students who will practice and implement what is learnt outside of lessons. I typically set students exercises for completion before the next lesson in addition to revision work for practice essay questions. The more committed a student is to our classes, the more they will gain from them.

I am a QTS qualified, native-Greek speaking teacher with BA in Primary Education and MA in Drama and Theatre Education. I have strong theoretical knowledge and confidence in my practice. During my Master's studies I examined the use of drama as a pedagogic approach in language acquisition for second language learners.
I always devote time researching extensively into specialist bibliography and seek every opportunity to undertake further training in order to achieve my teaching duties.

Teaching Experience:
I have fifteen years teaching experience in Primary schools in Greece, in private tuitions, as well as in Primary, Secondary and Greek Community Schools in the UK. I have been teaching Greek as a Second Language and as a Foreign Language at all levels, from primary students to adult learners with various literacy backgrounds. I am confronted with the challenge to help bilingual and English speaking students build confidence in expressing themselves in Greek and motivate them to become active learners.

Tutoring Approach:
I plan my teaching taking into account special educational needs, cultural background and emotional considerations. I always implement effective intervention plans tailored to my students' individual needs. I prepare educational material and interactive exercises based on modern communicative approaches in order to develop my students' language skills.
I organise my lesson plans in creative and inspiring ways using drama as educational tool. I believe in drama as a way of learners' language acquisition, as it helps them get engaged in communication situations with cultural and social dimensions.

I also facilitate online workshops for learning Greek through drama games, stories and songs for students 4-8 year old every Monday at 18:00 (£7 per student).

Dedicated IT professional with over 20 years experience. I have a wide variety of computing skills and knowledge across a variety of subjects. I currently work in the web sector providing consultancy, design, development and support services to clients, friends and family.

I live in High Wycombe but am happy to travel to anybody's house to allow tutoring to take place in a comfortable setting.

Teaching Experience:
I run my own IT consultancy business and have trained individuals with basic computing skills. At my day job, I train clients on a 1:1 basis and in large groups of up to 20 people on technology such as editing websites, graphics and making use of social media.

Tutoring Approach:
The approach I take is to let the client explain what they would like to achieve from the training requested. I then discuss the relevant experience they might have and document this to ensure progress can be measured and whether the training is progressing at the right level and speed.

Periodic verbal or practical reviews help to ensure the client is getting value out of the training.
