He began his music studies at an early age at the ARTE Music Academy (formerly Hellenic College of Music) from where he graduated in 2001 with a Degree in Piano with distinction. He continued his studies in Greece, at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, from where he got his Diploma in Piano with distinction in 2008, and at the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from where he graduated with a Degree in Composition with distinction in 2009. After this he moved to London where he studied composition at Trinity College of Music, acquiring his MMus in Composition with distinction in 2011. He has composed music for various ensembles, as well as works of electroacoustic and electronic music. His music has been performed in Cyprus, Greece, the United Kingdom and France. Works of his have been performed by the Trinity College of Music Student's Symphony Orchestra, the DissonArt Ensemble (Thessaloniki), the Contemporary Music Ensemble (Athens), the COMA Voices London choir, the TCM Harp Trio, the Solstice String Quartet, violinist Darragh Morgan a.o.

He is also an active music performer and focuses mainly on works of contemporary music and improvisation. He has performed debut performances of contemporary music works for piano or chamber music ensemble, in Thessaloniki and in London.

I am an exprerienced Teacher. Because of my love for Maths, I started teaching Maths when I was really young.
That was very a very important advantage for me because I had the opportunity to associate with numerous pupils of varied ages from young primary pupils to young adults (7 to 20).

Tutoring Approach:
Because I think it's unfair to face all pupils with the same plan, I always adapt my lesson to kid's strengths and weaknesses But also try to challenge them to their maximum ability.

I have over 15 years' experience of teaching Turkish as a foreign language, including at Ankara University, secondary schools and as a private tutor.
I graduated in Turkish Language and Literature from Hacettepe, Turkey's no. 1 university for academic performance.
I've helped coordinate Turkish language education programs with international agencies.
I'm skilled at teaching the Council of Europe's European Language Portfolio, which leads to recognised Turkish qualifications.

Teaching Experience:
For the past 15 years, both in Turkey and in the UK, I have taught all nationalities, ages, and professions.
My students include children, refugees, business people, university students, and diplomats.
I've taught private classes, group classes, academic Turkish, and Ottoman Turkish.
I've even trained other teachers to teach Turkish as a foreign language.

Tutoring Approach:
My classes are taught in Turkish as much as possible, with English explanations given when necessary. This allows students to develop their understanding and use of Turkish from the very beginning.

The classes use a communicative approach that encourages use of the four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Grammar and vocabulary are taught with exercises and real-life materials including Turkish songs, newspaper articles, film clips, TV series, and poetry.

Classes are typically one-to-one, either in-person or online. Group classes are available upon request.

Γεια σας, my name is Sofia and I am a native Greek. I currently live in Leicester. I hold a PhD in Museum Studies and Education at the University of Leicester. I am also certified for the teaching foreign/second language by Open University, UK. I have been working as Greek tutor since 2018. I love to teach people from different backgrounds, ages and cultures. I have a passion for teaching, but learning too. Ι am also speaking Spanish and am an art and history lover.

I believe that the best way to learn a language is to SPEAK the language. Hence, our lessons will mostly be based on conversations through which you will practise vocabulary and get a better understanding of Greek grammar rules. I don't want to be the classic teacher; I consider myself a facilitator, and I can tell you that no language is difficult - what you need is the right method.

Teaching Experience:
I have 8 years of experience teaching students Greek as a second and foreign language in the UK as school, university and private tutor. I teach adults and children, and my aim is to make my lessons enjoyable, interactive and productive. I have acquired a great deal of experience in teaching; for adults, I have experience teaching at an A1 Level (Beginners) to C1, C2 (Advanced) and for children, primary school to GCSE. I currently preparing student for the Greek GCSE and teach Modern Greek at the university and in private lessons online, having students at different ages and from all over the world. I have also been GCSE examiner in the UK.

Tutoring Approach:
I understand that every person is different, therefore, I organize and structure my lessons based on students' needs, interest, age and level, respecting their rhythm to learn and offering relaxing, comfortable and engaging environment to practice the language. In our first lesson, I would love to find out more about your interests, your goals, and your motivation to learn Greek. Likewise, the first lesson presents a valuable opportunity for me to consider your needs and feelings, and allows me devise a learning plan that is suitable and enjoyable for you.

I like to start my lessons by encouraging student to talk about what they have done in the last few days, or during the weekend. We will also review the vocabulary or grammar learnt in the previous lesson. I always create exercises that are useful for students to practice different skills. For example, I will share videos for listening and understanding or we would start a conversation after reading a text. I will also introduce a topic in each lesson, so my students can learn new vocabulary and grammar through different activities. Such activities could be reading, listening, role-playing and other visual games. My teaching materials are:
