I supported a young student who was studying for BA Business Accounting at the university by tutoring her in the Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Analysis and Corporate Finance subjects. As a result, she achieved a 2:1 Grade. It is pertinent to note that the young student did not have any prior knowledge in Accounting. She took A Level Drama, but changed to do Accounting at the university, which makes her achievement much more remarkable.

In my current role as an Accounts Lecturer, I have adopted a methodical approach to my teaching. During the first session I present a short questionnaire that I ask the student to fill in (honestly!) in order for me to assess their individual learning styles (right brain vs. left brain, use of visual stimuli etc), so that I can respond best to their needs.
