I would check in with them on agreed days/ times via skype to see how they are doing with their studies and revision on the lead up to exams and assessments and help to support them through this. During my time in schools, I taught across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, with responsibility for planning and delivering lessons in English and Mathematics, as well as preparing pupils for SATs and supporting targeted intervention groups. I have also worked closely with pupils with additional learning needs, adapting resources and approaches to ensure progress and engagement.

Alongside classroom teaching, I have extensive experience delivering one-to-one and small group tuition both in person and online. This includes supporting learners for SATs, 11+, and general academic improvement, as well as teaching English as a Foreign Language to international students of varying ages and abilities.

In addition, I run a small tutoring team, overseeing lesson quality and supporting tutors to ensure consistency in delivery and student progress.

My approach to tutoring is friendly, approachable, and highly engaging, with the aim of creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

I design lessons that are interactive and varied, using a wide range of resources such as games, visuals, real-life contexts, and structured practice activities to keep learning interesting and enjoyable. This helps students stay motivated while still making clear academic progress.

I place strong emphasis on adapting each lesson to the learner's goals, ensuring that every session is purposeful and targeted. Whether the focus is exam preparation, core skill development, or confidence building, I structure lessons to provide clear guidance and steady improvement.

Ultimately, my goal is to support each student in reaching their learning goals while building confidence, independence, and a genuine enjoyment of the subject.
