Personal Description:
I completed Nuclear Power Engineering degree studies in 1990 after 6 years of training in Havana and Moscow. Between 1990 and 2004, I worked as a Biomedical researcher in the fields of Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Vaccine Development. This involves collaboration with many European and American research teams and working visits to leading Biomedical centres in UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Spain including several UK Royal Society Fellowships and a UK Wellcome Trust International Travelling Post-doctoral Fellowship at Glasgow University Division of Immunology/Microbiology, which can be followed up by publication in peer-review scientific journals. Since 2006, I have been teaching Mathematics at GCSE and A-levels in the UK and currently, I am teaching at these levels plus International Baccalaureate Level. I have been an external marker (Mathematics in English and Spanish languages) for the International Baccalaureate Organisation for the last two years. Born in Cuba, Spanish is my mother tongue, thus i am able to tutor at any level in these two subjects: Mathematics and Spanish.

I will use a combination of written and active methods of teaching to engage the learner and make the subject more enjoyable. I use current approaches in line with Curriculum for Excellence (CfE). I collaborate with parents to provide weekly updates on progress and also use realistic goals both long-term and short-term.

I'm French, my family lives in Paris as well as the South of France and I've been living in UK 10 years.
I have a degree in Modern Languages and I enjoy travelling and discovering new cultures.

Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring French and Spanish to all levels from primary pupils to university students as well as Adults for the last 6 years.

Tutoring Approach:
I tailor lessons to my students' needs in a relaxed session. We will work together towards goals we set together.
I aim to help students over the long term by also discussing revision strategies and memory aids to ensure that topics covered in sessions will remain fresh and exam ready.
