My language learning journey started in the same way it does for most of us - at secondary school. I fell in love with the French language at an early age and went on to complete an honours degree in French Studies at the University of Birmingham. During my year abroad, I lived and studied in Montréal, where I took classes in French, Italian and Spanish at McGill University and also fell in love with the Spanish language and culture.

I do not have any official qualifications in Italian, however my background in romance languages (Italian is a Latin-based language which, broadly speaking, I find to have a very similar vocabulary to Spanish with the grammar of French!) and my methodical nature means I would ensure that every lesson is thoroughly planned and carefully checked; I would never teach you anything I am unsure of, as this can be greatly detrimental. I am not available to help with exam preparation for Italian or to teach more advanced levels. My lack of qualifications in this subject and the fact that I am not fluent are the reasons that Italian lessons are offered at a lower rate per hour than my other subjects.

Learning a foreign language is a process that implies some mimicking, language awareness, practice on comprehension, expression and also creativity. Some studies claim that the way we store languages in our brains is similar to that of data storing in a computer, but, of course, much more human, organic and alive. Languages have different components that need to be acquired and "stored" so that we can start feeling confident and creative in using them.

¡Hola! I'm Hannah, I have a 100% track record of improving students' Spanish grades, most of whom have achieved GCSE grades 7+ (A*). I am the founder of a Spanish tuition company and a qualified Spanish Teacher with a BA (hons) in Spanish. I have worked in several secondary schools in both Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, a secondary school in Madrid and have tutored children, students and adults for several years. I teach primary students (age 5+), KS3 students (years 7-9), GCSE students, A level students and adult learners. I specialise in preparing GCSE students for the AQA syllabus. I endeavour to not only provide high quality first teaching, but to inspire all of my clients to recognise the incredible rewards gained from learning another language. I have a modern, dynamic and enthusiastic teaching style, with a bank of professional resources which I have utilised in schools. I continually develop my own exclusive and engaging teaching resources, of which all my clients have free and unlimited access. Such resources include; an AQA GCSE Spanish revision timetable, an AQA GCSE Spanish knowledge organiser, tailored Quizlet sets for specific GCSE Spanish syllabuses and exclusive tailor-made lessons for KS3 and GCSE Spanish curriculums. I bring endless energy and enthusiasm to the lessons, whether they be in person or online. I take advantage of an interactive whiteboard and a variety of animated Spanish teaching resources which I have found highly successful in improving confidence, igniting interest and increasing vocabulary retention. For all online lessons I teach via Zoom, a virtual conferencing platform.

With my background working in secondary schools, I specialise in teaching KS3 (years 7-9) and GCSE Spanish learners. I ensure I am up-to-date with the demands of the National Curriculum in England and the format and requirements of secondary school examinations. I am particularly familiar with the AQA syllabus, however I provide quality exam preparation for all GCSE and A level exam boards. As an English native and having started my own Spanish-learning journey at school, I have acquired an acute understanding of the foreign language-learning process and am therefore able to offer unique insight and support into all aspects of my clients' journey towards fluency. I am well-accustomed to recognising the most difficult stages of learning the Spanish language and I am fast at identifying the strengths and weaknesses of my tutees. I aim to leave clients feeling more confident with their Spanish from the very first lesson. I am known for my love of Spanish grammar and I have a flare for teaching verbs and tenses in a logical and clear way. I am proud to have received a multitude of 5* testimonials from past and current clients and although I don't guarantee grades, I am delighted to share that my students consistently achieve above their EPGs (Expected Predicted Grades) & I have a high percentage of students achieving grades 7+ in their GCSE Spanish. I have an online booking system which is updated regularly with my availability. This allows my clients the flexibility to book online Spanish lessons with ease, at a time and on a day that suits them. I recognise the reality of busy family schedules, and therefore clients are able to book lesson slots with as little as 24 hours notice, or alternatively, block-book as many lessons as they wish in order to secure their preferred time slot.

Hello! My name is Rochelle, and I am a fully qualified languages teacher with over ten years of teaching and tutoring experience.

I hold a PGCE in Modern Languages with Distinction from the University of Oxford and a First-Class Honours degree in French and Spanish from Queen's University Belfast. I also have a Master of Research (Distinction) in Arts and Humanities, with a focus on Spanish studies.

I currently teach French and Spanish at a comprehensive secondary school in Oxfordshire and offer private tuition in both languages to learners of all ages and levels. I am passionate about languages, culture, and helping others to feel confident in their language journey.

Teaching Experience:
I have extensive experience of teaching languages to students of all ages and levels, and I've developed my own language skills through living and working abroad. I spent two years in Spain as an English Language Assistant, working with students aged 3-18, during which I also earned a beginner's qualification in Galician. This was followed by a year teaching English at South Colombian University in Neiva, Colombia. I've also spent time in France as an au pair, where I supported children's English language development in a family setting.

Over the years, I've helped a wide variety of learners, from complete beginners to advanced students preparing for high-stakes exams. I'm familiar with a variety of exam boards (Edexcel, AQA, CCEA, Cambridge International) and qualifications (GCSEs, A Levels, DELF / DELE), and I've also supported students aiming for academic scholarships.

Furthermore, I am highly experienced in supporting students with additional needs. I volunteered for five years at Barnardo's Saturday Club, working with children aged 5-11 with SEND. While in Spain, I supported weekly English classes for adults with SEND and helped prepare them for the Trinity College English exams. During my PGCE, I completed a placement at a school specialising in SEND, and I continue to tutor and teach students with a range of learning and physical needs.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach is always student-centred and tailored. I take the time to understand what each learner needs and wants to achieve, then work with them to create a clear, personalised learning plan. I believe that motivation and self-belief are just as important as grammar and vocabulary, which is why I also draw on research I carried out during my PGCE into self-efficacy and motivation in language learning.

All lessons are taught online, and each student receives their own personalised Drive folder for shared resources, notes, and homework. I use a wide range of digital tools to make lessons engaging and interactive.
