Tutoring Approach:
Although I learned all my foreign languages through a rigorous method very much based on writing and grammar, I am happy to adapt my method to my pupil's needs. Personally, I believe that conversation is the key to becoming fluent in a language, but at the same time I do not neglect the importance of writing and reading comprehension. I have a first class-degree in Spanish and German language and literature as well as an MPhil in Spanish literature which I completed in 2014. I encourage students to solve their own problems by guiding them with leading questions as this reaffirms their understanding of the subject matter. This method allows them to apply the same knowledge to different questions as they answer a question using their own words rather than mine.

I teach online via FaceTime and/or Skype from my home and at students' homes. I use Skype or Apple FaceTime. The video feed can be switched off at my student's request, or if it degrades the sound quality. Tests and exercises are sent to the student and returned to me for marking by email.
