Personal Description:
I am a female primary school teacher in the Doncaster/Wakefield area. Aside from my enthusiasm for teaching and helping children to achieve, I am interested in academic areas including sociology and languages. I enjoy travel and reading. I have worked voluntarily as a teaching assistant and completed a degree in Sociology before training to be a teacher. I have also recently (September 2019) completed a Master's in Social History. I now work as a supply teacher in primary and SEN schools and as a personal tutor to primary and secondary level children up to year 9. I hold an enhanced DBS check dated September 2015.
Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified primary school teacher who has taught classes of all ages at primary level. I also regularly work with secondary SEN students who are not in mainstream education. As a supply teacher, I have worked in many different schools and, as such, I develop positive relationships very quickly with both children and adults. I enjoy working with individuals and small groups in academic tasks and find that children are very responsive to this lower teacher-pupil ratio. I have found that working in these situations really helps to boost children's concentration and confidence in their work. They also feel more comfortable to ask questions in areas they find difficult. When tutoring, I am to create a positive, friendly and professional relationship where children feel comfortable with what they are learning, but also feel they can ask for help when required.
Tutoring Approach:
I recognise that children learn in many different ways - some by seeing and visualising, some by talking and discussing, and some by doing a physical or mental activity. I aim to tutor children using the learning style that best suits them. In a classroom, it is often difficult to meet the needs of every child. Personal tuition provides children with valuable one-to-one time, where the focus is on them and them alone. I believe that personal tuition does much to increase achievement in those weaker areas, but also serves to challenge and develop knowledge in stronger areas. Following an initial consultation, I provide personalised programmes of study tailored exactly to meet the needs of the child involved. I am passionate about helping children to reach their full potential and will do all I can to make this happen. Sessions take place in the child's own home and are arranged on a flexible basis with parent or guardian. I am able to provide tuition from 1 hour per week to more intensive programmes consisting of several hours per week in the school holidays.
I currently have slots available on weekday evenings. Please note, I do not usually tutor on Saturdays or Sundays.

Personal Description:
My name is Mo and I am an experienced teacher of Psychology and Sociology in York.
Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified teacher of Psychology and Sociology based in York. I have over 20 years experience of teaching, I am a senior examiner for a major exam board, as well as having lead successful departments of both Psychology and Sociology.
I have had much experience of supporting students who are managing mental health issues or who are neuro-diverse. One to one tuition can provide tailored support and a safe working environment to help students flourish.
I also work as a freelance academic author and have worked with the OUP on it`s GCSE Psychology textbook and A level Psychology resources. Prior to this I have produced numerous resources for teachers of GCSE and A level Psychology specifications.
Tutoring Approach:
I offer tailored private tuition for students doing GCSE, A Level, IFP and Access courses. I am passionate about my teaching and offer a student centred approach where each session is planned and tailored to fit the needs of the student. I focus on successful exam technique and marking skills, allowing the student to develop a deeper understanding of what is required of them to achieve excellent results. The students work is regularly marked and discussed giving the student feedback as to their progress and the knowledge of how to correct any errors and gain higher grades. I firmly believe that one to one tuition nurtures students to trust their own abilities and knowledge, leading to a more confident, enjoyable and successful learning experience.

Personal Description:
I am a self-confessed geek; I love reading and learning about new ideas. I love teaching as I get to pass on my passion for learning to my students.
Teaching Experience:
I have worked with young and vulnerable adults since 2009 and have watched students flourish with the right help and reassurance. I have a range of experience in delivering private tuition from level two to degree level. I teach in the State Sector which I greatly enjoy as it allows me to share my passion learning with my students. Previous to my career as a teacher, I worked as a Study Facilitator at the University of Lincoln helping students adapt to the demands of academic life. I have an excellent track record of helping students to meet and exceed their target grades.
Tutoring Approach:
My philosophy towards teaching and learning is that everyone should be given the individual encouragement and support they require to reach their full potential. This is based on experiences I have had both as a student and a tutor. I understand that each learner is unique and I tailor my tutoring style to meet each individual learners needs. I have high expectations of my learners and they make strong progress in their studies and achieve excellent results.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly and approachable teacher and examiner with over a decade of experience. I hold Masters degrees in Education and Public Health, and am working on my PhD in London. Originally from North America, I have lived and worked in London since 2010.
Teaching Experience:
I qualified as a teacher of Humanities and Social Sciences (focusing on History, Religious Studies, and Psychology) from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, before moving to the UK.
In my decade in London, I have taught Health and Social Care, Child Development, Psychology, and Religious Studies at GCSE and A-level equivalents (BTEC Levels 2 and 3 included), as well as tutored university students to support them with their writing and work on research methods.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to ask questions of the tutees to get them to think, but also to connect the work with what they may have already experienced. For example, when teaching Health and Social Care concepts, it is important to link this to the world around them, including what they may have seen recently in the news.
I would usually spend a few minutes at the beginning and end of each session just to check in with how the tutee is doing and what they would like to accomplish to make sure it is a productive session for them.
I am willing to not only support with exam subject knowledge, but to help with coursework modules as well in terms of understanding the content.

I have a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and I've taught students all the way from university to primary school in a number of subject areas. I also have an MPhil in Philosophy from Cambridge and a BA (Philosophy) /BSc (Biology) from the University of Auckland.
At the moment, my main areas of expertise are philosophy/critical thinking and sociology but I've previously privately tutored students in biology, maths, psychology and english for many years.
I was born in Sri Lanka but I grew up in Australia and New Zealand. I moved to the UK, to do postgraduate study and can't seem to leave :)
Teaching Experience:
University Teaching:
Lectures: Introductory Lecture on Buddhist Account of Personal Identity (Oct 2018), Environmental Ethics and Future
Generations (Lent Term 2021)
Supervisions (2018 - Current), Cambridge University supervisions, both group and individual, for papers in the faculties
of Philosophy (Formal Methods, Set Texts, Political Philosophy), History and Philosophy of Science (General Philosophy
of Science, Philosophy of Psychiatry), Medicine (Social and Ethical Context of Health and Illness) and Sociology (Health,
Medicine and Society).
Kings College London (Sep 2019 - Dec 2019): Introduction to Ethics.
Auckland University (2012-2013): Critical Thinking, Introduction to Metaphysics, Theories of Human Nature and Introduction to Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Logic.
I've also been a tutor from 2009 -- 2018, both privately and working for Tutoring Australasia. During this period I taught, philosophy, english, maths and psychology.
Tutoring Approach:
I specialise in teaching students to do just that little bit better in exams and in fundamental skills that will be useful to them throughout their education, such as writing clearly and engagingly.
Learning should also be fun and tailored to the student; ideas don't really come alive unless they feel relevant. So even my university teaching uses sources that are accessible and interesting to the student, like podcasts and youtube videos.

Personal Description:
I have been a Sociology teacher for over 3 years. I did my bachelors degree in European Social and Political Studies and did a PGCE in Social Sciences at UCL.
I have achieved A*A*A grades at A-Level Sociology, Politics and Geography. I have studied both AS and A2 Level Sociology with AQA and received A* Grades in all my modules - the topics I have studied were: Family and Households; Education; Crime and Deviance; Beliefs; Theory and Methods. I have also taught the Media component of the course.
Even if I haven't studied the same topics, I believe that I can offer extremely valuable essay tips and techniques to help you succeed at A-Level Sociology as I have gained a wealth of knowledge over the last 3 years of teaching and 5 years of tutoring this subject.
I can offer an array of resources from exemplar essay answers and Sociology lessons.
Teaching Experience:
I have been a Sociology teacher for over 3 years, therefore so I have a lot of experience with AQA A-Level Sociology specification. Also, I have tutored A-Level Sociology for over 5 years.
Here are the reviews I have gotten from past tutees:
"Her lessons are interactive and highly informative. She asks what i want to focus on next session and will send power points in case i was unclear on anything. She has made sociology much clearer to me." - Rachael
"Whilst I was part of the corona virus a level year and didn't actually get to sit my exams! Aleksandra had been a great help. Her lessons were always very organised and structured and she was very prompt. They genuinely improved my subject knowledge (sociology) and even though I had gone to a grammar school, I feel like it's Aleksandra's teaching above all that would've enabled me to get an a* due to her little tips and key words!" - Trudi
"Very good and friendly" - Julia
"I currently get online tutoring from Aleksandra, she uses powerpoint style learning which is easy to follow along to and make notes, she is also good at explaining how to do past paper questions." - Malaika
"Very good tutor and explains the subject well. Power points are very helpful" - Natasha
"Miss Aleksandra Is absolutely great! She came prepared and organised never once watched the time! Helped my daughter so much already in just two lessons couldn't be more happy with her" - Nyomi
Tutoring Approach:
I make presentations catered for the tutee for every lesson. I make them as interactive and engaging, as this is what allows for retention. Throughout the lesson I make sure that the tutee understands the content (e.g. asking the tutee to rephrase the content that is being learnt to make sure they fully grasp the topic.) I end lessons with recap practice exam questions.
After the end of the lesson, I send the presentation via email so you can revisit it at any time.
Also, I am accessible via email so if you have any queries related to Sociology outside of the lesson I am always happy to help.

Personal Description:
I am a dedicated and passionate teacher currently working with primary 1/2 students, and I have had experience working with children of all ages. I am GTC registered and have an PVG to work with children. Outside of the classroom, I have been involved in Girl Guiding and have had various opportunities to engage with children in different school settings. This has allowed me to develop a well-rounded understanding of how children learn and grow in different environments.
Teaching Experience:
Throughout my teaching career, I have had the privilege of working with children from ages 4 to 16, and I am now offering tutoring in subjects such as maths, literacy, and social studies subjects including sociology, criminology, and modern studies for National 5 students. I take pride in tailoring my lessons to suit the individual needs of my students, helping them not only meet but exceed their learning goals. My experience with a range of age groups and subjects has provided me with the tools to create engaging and effective lessons.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe in creating an engaging and interactive learning environment where students are actively involved in their learning process. I focus on active learning techniques and repetition, ensuring that key concepts are fully understood and retained. I always strive to align my lessons with the Curriculum for Excellence, ensuring they are both relevant and challenging. By incorporating various strategies such as hands-on activities, real-life applications, and positive reinforcement, I aim to help students build confidence in their abilities while achieving academic success.
I will be offering opportunities from now until August to get your child ready to begin Primary 1 in regards to literacy and maths. This can be in the form of 1-1 sessions or group sessions that will help develop social skills too! In addition to this, I will be offering sessions for current school children to both revise and learn maths and literacy knowledge and skills to ensure they have the best start in their next academic year.

I build up a relationship of trust with my students where they feel confident about their abilities and can accept constructive criticism. I am equally happy teaching theoretical and empirical topics. I especially enjoy helping students design plans for research projects. Personal Description:
I am a qualified Secondary Psychology Teacher (QTS, 2024) with a strong academic foundation and a genuine passion for helping learners grow in confidence and independence.
Alongside my school-based teaching, I have built a successful online tutoring practice supporting GCSE, A‑Level and undergraduate students in Psychology, Sociology and Criminology.
My background includes SEND-informed practice, particularly supporting learners with autism, ADHD and anxiety, which has shaped my calm, patient and highly structured approach.
I am currently completing an MA in Education, which strengthens my evidence-based teaching methods and keeps my practice aligned with the latest research in learning, cognition and inclusive pedagogy.
Teaching Experience:
My experience spans classroom teaching, one‑to‑one tutoring, small-group intervention, and long-term academic mentoring.
I have delivered full curriculum content, created differentiated resources, and supported students preparing for AQA Psychology exams with model answers, mark‑scheme breakdowns and targeted revision strategies.
As an online tutor, I specialise in helping students who benefit from clear structure, scaffolded explanations and consistent academic routines.
I have extensive experience supporting SEND learners, adapting content to different processing styles, and building essential study skills such as organisation, planning, and exam technique.
My students often work with me long-term because they value the clarity, reliability and personalised support I provide.
Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring style is structured, supportive and highly personalised.
I begin by identifying the student's current level, strengths and gaps, then build a tailored plan that focuses on both knowledge and exam performance.
I break down complex theories into manageable steps, use real‑world examples to deepen understanding, and model high‑mark answers so students know exactly what examiners look for.
Sessions are interactive and paced to the learner's needs, with a strong emphasis on active recall, spaced practice and exam‑technique coaching.
For SEND learners, I adapt explanations, materials and session structure to ensure accessibility and reduce cognitive load.
Above all, I aim to create a positive, motivating environment where students feel capable, supported and equipped to achieve their goals.

Personal Description:
PhD Law | LLM, LLB & PG Dip in Law | Business Law, Human Rights Law, and Criminology Specialist | A Published Scholar and University Lecturer.
Teaching Experience:
I hold a PhD in Law from Glasgow Caledonian University, an LLM in International Human Rights Law from the University of Strathclyde, a Postgraduate Diploma in International Business Law, and an LLB. I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and have extensive experience in university-level teaching in the United Kingdom. I currently teach at a UK University. Previously, I taught at Glasgow Caledonian University as an associate lecturer for nearly two years. My teaching experience covers Contract Law, Tort Law, Company Law, Business Law, Human Rights Law, International Commercial Law, International Trade Law, International Investment Law, and criminology-related subjects.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching approach is student-centred, interactive, and tailored to each learner's individual needs. I believe that students learn best when they understand not only what the law is, but also why it operates in a particular way and how legal principles apply in real-world situations. Therefore, I combine clear explanations of legal doctrines with practical examples, case analysis, and critical discussion.
My lessons are designed to develop legal knowledge, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and academic writing abilities. I use a variety of teaching methods, including case-based learning, guided discussions, exam-style questions, and structured feedback. For dissertation and assignment support, I provide guidance on research methods, legal analysis, structure, referencing, and critical argumentation.
A typical lesson lasts at least one hour. During each session, I assess the student's current understanding, identify areas for improvement, explain key concepts in an accessible manner, and provide opportunities to apply what they have learned through exercises and discussion. Lessons are paced according to the student's level and learning objectives.
My lessons are suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students (LLB, LLM, and related programmes), as well as mature learners and professionals seeking to strengthen their legal knowledge. I also provide support for dissertation projects, coursework, assignments, exam preparation, and academic writing.

Personal Description:
Hi, I am an enthusiastic and high-achieving sixth-form student currently studying for my A-Levels. Having recently completed my GCSEs with top marks, I have a passion for learning and want to help younger students build their confidence, master difficult topics, and achieve their full academic potential.
Why choose an A-Level student as a tutor?
Because I am currently in full-time education, my understanding of the UK curriculum, exam specs, and mark schemes is completely fresh. I know exactly what it takes to succeed in the modern school system because I am doing it right now. I don't just teach the material-I share the exact revision habits, time-management skills, and exam techniques that helped me score top grades.
Teaching Experience:
I have active, practical experience tutoring younger students and currently provide weekly, targeted support to two Year 10 students preparing for their GCSEs.
In my current tutoring roles, I focus on:
* Identifying Knowledge Gaps: Evaluating what students are struggling with in class and breaking those specific topics down into simpler, manageable concepts.
* Exam-Board Specific Prep: Designing lessons around active exam specifications (such as AQA and Edexcel) to ensure everything we cover aligns perfectly with what they will face in school.
* Building Confidence: Transitioning students from feeling overwhelmed by complex topics to independently solving exam-style questions.
By working regularly with Year 10 students, I am highly familiar with the pace of the current curriculum and know how to keep lessons engaging and productive for teenagers. I understand how to communicate difficult ideas in a way that clicks, using my own recent exam success to act as both a tutor and a relatable academic mentor.
Tutoring Approach:
I pride myself on being patient, approachable, and encouraging. I remember how overwhelming school can feel, so I aim to create a supportive, stress-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes. Outside of my studies, I am organised, reliable, and dedicated to helping my students succeed.
My approach to tutoring is built on two core principles: building absolute confidence and mastering the mark scheme. I believe that no student is "bad" at a subject; they often just haven't had the concept explained in a way that matches their individual learning style.
1. Student-Led and Adaptive:
I tailor every single lesson to the student's immediate needs. We start by tackling the topics they find most intimidating or the concepts they didn't quite grasp in class that week. I use clear visual aids, digital whiteboards, and step-by-step breakdowns until the student has a genuine "lightbulb" moment.
2. Stress-Free Mentorship:
Because I am an A-Level student, I act as a relatable academic mentor rather than a strict teacher. I create a relaxed, supportive environment where mistakes are treated as essential learning steps. If a student gets stuck, we pause, change direction, and approach the problem from a fresh angle without any pressure.
3. Exam Strategy:
Understanding the content is only half the battle. My approach heavily emphasises exam technique. I teach students how to read between the lines of exam questions, identify what the examiners are actually looking for, and structure their answers to pick up every single available mark.
