I've been tutoring Maths, Science and English since 2007, for ages 5 to 50. However, I mostly help teenagers with their SATs, GCSEs and A Levels.

Maths, Science and English are the three main subjects that people tend to want tutoring in. (Actually it's five subjects if you break the Science down into Biology, Chemistry and Physics.)

Anyway, as I tutor all of these subjects, my students find it very useful that I can potentially cover a different subject each week, or I can do two hours a week and cover a different subject in each hour.

This obviously makes it much easier for the parents too, because they don't have to find a separate tutor for each subject, or leave their child without the valuable one-to-one support in any of the core subjects.

I've also helped my students with pretty much every major school subject; from History and Religious Studies, to French and Spanish, and even Psychology and Health and Social Care. In fact, experience has shown me that I can help anyone to better understand anything - even something that I didn't even know myself a minute earlier!

I am an Open University graduate having completed an BA(Hons) degree. I chose my own programme of study which consisted of French,English Language Studies with GCSE/Standard grade Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. After my degree, I undertook an A-level/Higher Grade Maths course and GCSE/Standard Grade level Latin course to keep my study skills fresh and updated whilst complimenting my degree.

Tutoring Approach:
Academic experience: I have worked in private tutoring, state and private schools, university departments and know how examiners mark and what they expect. I have worked for 2 prestigious Universities and am adept at entrance documents and applications. I am a successful local tutor and teacher with an MA in Education from Oxford Brookes University (2016), a Postgraduate Diploma in English and Language in Education from the University of Reading (2012). I have successfully prepared students for a range of exams including (but not limited to): IELTS, Cambridge Advanced, Cambridge Young Learners, UKiset (for entrance to UK independent schools) and much more. I have particular experience in teaching essay writing skills.

Hi I am a qualified primary school teacher. Teaching is my passion and I am here to help students thrive in their learning journeys. I am a mother to a little girl and we love the outdoors, exploring new places. I like travelling to different countries and experiencing the culture, food and history.

Teaching Experience:
I have 8 years of teaching experience in both key stage 1 and 2. Most of my years spent teaching and preparing students for the 11 + and SATS. I use a nurturing and engaging style to my teaching and incorporate the constructivist approach, allowing students to take a more active role in the learning process, encouraging them to use their prior knowledge as a foundation for understanding new concepts.

Tutoring Approach:
My teaching approach is child-centred and I tailor my learning and style to the needs of each child. I create a calm and nurturing environment so that my students feel at ease and have a love for learning. I help children over come their learning hurdles by providing one-on-one teaching in a given subject, assessing a child's level of education and supporting the gaps. I teach a variety of students, from those who are particularly struggling with areas of learning, to those who are looking for a challenge.
