GCSE's

Jack's mock results were an E in English Language as well as a D in literature and he wanted to do Economics A level which required a B grade in his final GCSE. Jack had two hours of tuition per week from January to May. He enjoyed going (this surprised me as he hated English before the sessions) and had a new found likeness for literacy. He received a B in both language and literature and can now do A level economics. Jack related very well to David- this made learning easier for Jack and he obtained the grades he needed. His teachers at school noticed a marked improvement in his work when he was having tuition.

I'm an author and a poet, I have had many poems published, won first prize in an international poetry competition (2011) and have also brought out two collections, which are on sale on Amazon. In 2015 I published my memoir A Hippopotamus at the Table. Set in South Africa in the 1970s. I'm about to publish my second memoir and published a book called Writing Memoir. I'm a retired academic in psychology and education with over 25 years experience teaching and supporting students in HE on undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in the UK and internationally.

Specialism in psychology, particularly child development, cognitive development, psychology in education, language and communication, child health, research methods and stats, SEND, inclusion, emotional health and wellbeing. Expertise in inclusive approaches to teaching and learning for students from diverse contexts, and with additional needs.
