This coaching-based approach I take has proven highly successful. I approach each student and the sessions with an open mind to learn what I need to be of support.

Combining motivational coaching techniques, I offer a uniquely engaging, personally attuned service. The first lesson typically consists of a complimentary educational assessment (usually 30 minutes) to help identify key areas for improvement . All results can be shared with the parent/guardian. Based on this initial assessment, a 100% individual and tailored programme of learning is created. When I was in the 6th form (in 2009), I also volunteered as a classroom assistant in my school. I had to use my knowledge of French to help one student who had not yet learnt to speak fluent English, translating the teacher's instructions for her and helping her with words she did not understand. Between 2009-10, I helped to run two after-school classes for Key Stage 2 pupils, one in Literacy and Art and another in Drama. This involved planning and delivering lessons to classes of about 5-10 children, and keeping them engaged with the topics they were learning through activities designed to both teach and entertain.

My experience of tutoring has shown me the importance of patience and respect in teaching. Especially in essay-based subjects, it is crucial that a teacher allows their pupils space to develop their own ideas, and respects their independent thought. I'm a fully qualified Psychology teacher of GCSE and A Level Psychology with over 33 years of experience working in schools and Sixth Form Colleges across London and Cheshire. Throughout my career, I've led successful Psychology departments and helped countless students build confidence and achieve their goals in this fascinating subject. I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology and specialise in the AQA specification at A Level and Edexcel specification at GCSE.
