I get a lot of satisfaction from helping people to understand something they thought was beyond them. Hi, I am Lynette, and I am originally from Singapore. I am a native English and Mandarin, Chinese speaker, and have lived in the UK since 2013. Currently, I am finishing up my PhD in neuroscience (in the final stages) where I work frequently with children with and without learning disabilities and/or neurodevelopment disorders. I enjoy teaching greatly, as it brings me a sense of joy and pride when I see my students, be it a curious child or a determined adult, improve and gain confidence in themselves.

I have been giving tuition since the age of 16 years. I have taught in both formal teaching settings (i.e. government primary school, tuition centre and psychology at university level) and also in private tuition settings (i.e., one-to-one lessons or small group lessons). Over the years, I have gained a variety of experience teaching toddlers from the age of 2 years to young adults preparing for the HSK International exams or A levels, and also older adults who were learning Mandarin as a hobby, or to learn some useful phrases to speak to their in-laws or per the requirements of their work.
