Personal Description:
I'm a former humanitarian worker with a keen interest in philosophy, politics, feminism, and political economy.

I love teaching 1-on-1 and take a holistic approach to helping students. That means that I can help you with both the technical academic things you are struggling with such as planning a research project, writing an essay or dissertation, or public speaking, as well as mental blocks like self-confidence, procrastination, anxiety, and mental health. Using a holistic approach means that we can discover the root cause of whatever is holding you back from being able to excel, develop strategies to overcome these obstacles, and help you become more a confident and independent student.

I have just completed my PhD thesis as part of a fully-funded doctoral candidate in Political Philosophy, during which time I was supervised in equal parts by FINO (The Northwestern Italian Philosophy Consortium, University of Turin) and the University of Vienna.

Teaching experience:

* In 2024 I was a Visiting Lecturer in Contemporary Political Philosophy, teaching first- and second-year BA philosophy students at the University of Hertfordshire.

* In 2022-23 I taught first- and second year BA students in the Government Department at the London School of Economics and Political Science. The course I teach is an Introduction to Political Theory (from Plato to Fanon).

* I have also given lectures to Master's students in Philosophy of Technology on algorithmic pricing.

My doctoral research project is a Normative Analysis of the Political Economy of Algorithmic Pricing.

Postgraduate studies:
PhD, Political Philosophy, 2020-2024

MSc, Merit in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2015).
Dissertation on the moral dilemmas related to Artificial Intelligence; received a Distinction.

Undergraduate studies:
BA(Hons), 2:1 in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic from Cambridge University (2010). Included modules in history, politics, anthropology, literature, and religious studies, as well as Arabic language.
I speak the Levantine dialect (Syrian, Lebanese, Palestinian, Jordanian) as well as the Iraqi dialect, and have lived and worked in Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and Iraqi Kurdistan Region.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored undergraduate and Master's-level students who need help writing essays or dissertations in the following humanities subjects:

Anthropology
Political theory, Feminist theory
Political science
Political economy, History
International Relations, Conflict studies, Humanitarian studies
Sociology, Gender studies

Tutoring Approach:

I provide detailed editing to help you improve both your written style and content. I cover everything from grammar and citations to structure, methodology, and line of argument. I give you resources to continue improving your academic writing even after we finish working together. These will equip you to continue working on things we will cover, such as stylistic conventions both in academic English generally as well as those specific to different social science disciplines. I also coach you in how to plan your research, how to structure a paper, building a line of argument, effective use of primary and secondary sources, and how to write an engaging and compelling paper.

I start by writing detailed comments in Track Changes, then talk you through the issues so that you can not only improve your paper or dissertation, but also learn how to write in a clear, confident, and persuasive style. Ideally, if there's enough time before the deadline, I go over another draft once you've addressed the comments. This back-and-forth ensures the very best final product in your authentic voice, and that the process has been a valuable learning experience for you.

I will also give you the opportunity to discuss personal hang-ups that might be impeding your ability to work well. I am not a therapist, but I can discuss personal issues affecting your studies, and direct you to helpful resources to address underlying issues like anxiety, procrastination.

Personal Description:
I am an active independent-scholar and writer, living near St Andrews University. I have written numerous books and articles and am currently working on a new book as well as tutoring a handful of students. I am also a former Academic Advisor to students in the United States of America, and I have worked for two tutoring companies in Oxford since returning to the UK. I am therefore familiar with the needs of international students when it comes to navigating the English and Scottish University systems. I focus on technique over content with a particular emphasis on writing skills, though I also read all the books and articles my students are required to read, so that I can help them with content when required.

Teaching Experience:

Award winning teacher at the University of Georgia, 1999-2000
Academic Adviser to University Students from 2003-2007
Tutor Oxford International Study Centre, April 2013 - May 2014
Carfax Tutorial Establishment, November 2013 - May 2014
Freelance Tutor ongoing.

Tutoring Approach:

I adopt a holistic approach to tutoring, working with a student to address her or his individual academic needs. I am process-orientated, building on a student's strengths and eliminating weaknesses. I am also practical, constantly working towards the student's objectives. As a result, I focus very much on academic skills and developing the student's academic toolbox, so that they can gain confidence and become independent learners.

Personal Description:
I have a background in senior industrial and commercial management, both in the UK and overseas; also senior experience in the public sector (local government and NHS). I took time out in my thirties to gain my PGCE.

Teaching Experience:

I have never taught full-time (although I was once up to around two-thirds of a full timetable). I have worked in further education colleges and as a supply-teacher, mostly in secondary. In addition, I have long experience as a governor of my old private-sector school, so understand very well the requirements for successful 11+ and 13+ entrance. I have been tutoring since 2000, and have a multitude of "success-stories".

Tutoring Approach:

First and foremost: flexibility. Equally, I have a wealth of life-experience, across sectors, so can, as my students have often remarked, bring subjects to life: they are seldom bored, if ever. I also have a large stock of teaching resources and past examination-papers and tests. I combine light-heartedness and a level of informality with a focus on the need to meet objectives and achieve results(sometimes having set them).

Personal Description:
I am an experienced sociology tutor and proofreader having taught in the sociology department at the University of Warwick for four years and also for a short while in the School of Languages and Social Sciences at the University of Aston. (I can also tutor at this level in modern history, politics and international relations). I have BA in sociology and politics from Oxford Brookes University and an MSc in social science research methods from Sussex. I completed my doctorate at the University of Warwick. In addition to my university work, I have tutored for a private agency (where I held an advanced CRB certificate) at A-level in sociology, politics and modern history. My last DBS was held from 2023 to 2024. I have a good record of helping A-level students to achieve the grades they require for a place in higher education and I have continued this success whilst tutoring independently. I live in Marlborough, Wiltshire.

At A-level I am happy to help with essay writing and subject research and prep for exams. Please contact me early in your studies though (early in the academic year, as early intervention has greater rewards...).For undergraduates, I can offer advice on essay and dissertation construction and also on writing style and format. Additionally, I can help to formulate ideas for research projects and can proof read long or short drafts.

I charge £50 per week for ongoing students - A-level or undergraduate - one-off jobs are charged according to the complexity of work - I do not charge hourly. I take payment in advance.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored at A-level and taught at undergraduate level for 7 years. I also worked as a sessional lecturer at Aston University for a year.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is simple: I help to give students the skills and knowledge they require to achieve their goals in education.

Personal Description:
I am a 31-year old freelance journalist, born and raised in Germany. I have two Master's degrees, one in politics and one in digital journalism. Because of working in media & communications I am used to reviewing written text and highly aware of people's way of expressing themselves. I have a huge passion for languages and have learned Spanish for over 10 years now, including extensive stays in Spain, and I am perfectly fluent in English.

Teaching Experience:

Mostly 1 on 1 teaching and reviewing written texts over the last few years. Also, I taught a GCSE class in German at Royal Greenwich UTC for half a year. In addition, I have been teaching German at The Green Monkey School in Madrid for two years. My students have significantly improved in their skills and I prepared several people for their move to Germany.

Tutoring Approach:

I prefer a natural approach to learning languages which means engaging in everyday conversations that help the speaker get used to the way they usually talk in a new environment. I also look precisely for mistakes in any kind of written work and take much care about correct grammar and spelling as I do in my own publications.

For politics in journalism I can also edit written work and talk through complex political and social processes which I have extensively analysed during my studies.

Personal Description:
I am a self-confessed geek; I love reading and learning about new ideas. I love teaching as I get to pass on my passion for learning to my students.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked with young and vulnerable adults since 2009 and have watched students flourish with the right help and reassurance. I have a range of experience in delivering private tuition from level two to degree level. I teach in the State Sector which I greatly enjoy as it allows me to share my passion learning with my students. Previous to my career as a teacher, I worked as a Study Facilitator at the University of Lincoln helping students adapt to the demands of academic life. I have an excellent track record of helping students to meet and exceed their target grades.

Tutoring Approach:

My philosophy towards teaching and learning is that everyone should be given the individual encouragement and support they require to reach their full potential. Personal Description:
Are you bored about learning Spanish in a conventional way? about teachers who do not really care about your progress and interests?

I think that the best way to learn a language is making the student comfortable with dynamic and enjoyable Spanish classes. I will make a personal Spanish program for you, where I will adapt your interest (job environment, informal situations with friends...) to your Spanish level. I will prepare everything you feel could be interesting for the class.

I have always loved teaching, I have loved it since I was a teenager, whenever my classmates asked me to help them or even my sisters and I had to help them with their exercises solving the problem they had.

I am really hard working, friendly, very sociable and professional.

Lately, I have been also teaching online with IBERIS to student from different countries among the world. So, I find myself familiar with the latest technologies and programs related to the online teaching. Furthermore, I have a great interest in the international issues and different cultures. I really enjoy teaching and learning something new from my students make me feel better.

In addition, I find myself as an entrepreneur. So, I would be constantly improving the classes and working hard to personalize the classes as much as possible depending on the goals and the Spanish level of every student.

Teaching Experience:

Regarding my teaching experience, I have at least 2 years teaching Spanish in different public and private institutions around the world.

I began teaching Spanish as a volunteer in my university on 2015. I have always had a great interest in different cultures and languages. I really admire people who travel and work around the world, so in 2015-2016 I decided to teach Spanish voluntarily during the whole course (9 months) to those international people who came as an Erasmus to my University. I felt really comfortable helping them improving their Spanish while I was learning a lot from them too.

After this academic course, I made my luggage and I went to the USA for the whole summer. I was motivated and interested in the American lifestyle, so I decided to try my best three months working at Morey´s Piers as a chef while I was working as a native Spanish teacher in my second job at the Christian academy for 3 months in New Jersey.

As soon as I finished my stay in the USA, I came back to Poland where I continued my last year of university through a bilateral international agreement at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences. I was studying while I was working in 2 different institutions as a native Spanish teacher. On the one hand, I was working as a tenured Spanish native teacher at the "IBERIS online academy" for one year. On the second hand, I was working as support Spanish native teacher at the "Gniezno Institute" during the same academical year.

In conclusión, the last 2 years from 2015 I have been working as a native Spanish teacher in 4 different places, at the University in Spain, at Christian´s academy in the USA, at IBERIS online academy and Gniezno institute (Poland). And right now, I am working privately in Scotland.

Tutoring Approach:

Among the qualities a teacher should have, in my opinión would be dedication, passion, patience, and teamwork.

A teacher must dedicate a long time not only to the classes, also preparing the ideal program for the classes in order to satisfy the language needs of the student or student group.

Furthermore, a teacher must be highly passionate to motivate each student making the learning enjoyable and useful at the same time.

The patience is another important quality as each student needs their own time to understand and develop the knowledge. We are treating with people and everyone is different. It is really important to personalize the teaching in each case.

The communication among the students is as important as the proper teamwork between the professionals on the institution in order to give the best service to our students and help growing altogether the academy.

I think that the best way to learn a language is making the student comfortable with dynamic and enjoyable Spanish classes. So far, I make a personal Spanish program for my students, where I adapt their interest (job environment, informal situations with friends...) to their Spanish level. I also prepare everything they feel could be interesting for the class.

I like making the classes as enjoyable as possible in order to keep the students happy and motivated. In fact, I work with practical and useful material made by my own. So, my classes will be based on a practical Spanish according to the student's needs, I want them to feel motivated and happy. If not, I will not be satisfied at all.

The classes will focus on talking and practicing mainly, as a language is learned speaking and practicing a lot. But of course, we will have a good base of grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and listening too.

The classes must be as efficient as possible!

Are you ready to start with useful Spanish and enjoyable classes?

Say goodbye to the boring classes and let´s start learning useful Spanish having a good time.

Let´s get started!

Personal Description:
Professional History and Politics tutor, Tutors` Association member, former university lecturer, Associate Fellow RHS, PhD, PGCE, +10 years experience.

Hi! My name's Joe and I am a full-time, professional tutor and have been offering expert tuition in A level History and Politics since 2014.

I previously worked as a university lecturer and Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Modern History after completing my PhD in History in October 2021. As a result, I have an acute understanding of the skills required to study at advanced level, an insight I will provide to help you master your A levels.

I have tutored over 60 History modules across AQA, OCR and Edexcel specifications, and my published research expertise centres on modern history, specifically empire, imperialism, and decolonisation. If you struggle with any aspect of the subject, whether its how to improve the structure of your essays, refine your primary source analysis skills, or more effectively assess interpretations, I can guide and support you through practical ways to elevate your engagement with the subject. Beyond A level History, I warmly welcome enquires from undergraduate and postgraduate History students looking for supervision and support in essay and/or dissertation research and writing.

I have also taught the full suite of modules for A level Politics for both AQA and Edexcel specifications. Whether you're learning the subject for the first time or resitting your exam, lessons are tailored to help you engage with Politics in an exciting and thought-provoking way that combines in-depth and up to date analysis of current political events with a comprehensive grounding in political theory - all whilst making it enjoyable too!

Don't hesitate to get in touch; I would be delighted to help.

Teaching Experience:

Don`t just take my word for it, here is just a snapshot of the great results and feedback I`ve got from past students:

"I'm happy to let you know that I received an A in History, I was the only one in my year to achieve an A in History!! Many thanks for all your help over the years, really appreciate it."

"Thank you so much, and thank you for all your help in History! I got an A and I got my offer so will be going to Oxford in October!"

"I got an A overall in history! Could not have managed it without your tutoring, particularly in the coursework but also in cultivating a general historical understanding and appreciation. I will be going to Leeds in September to do history - very excited for it."

"I am delighted to say that I received an A grade for my History A Level, with a mark of 156/200, so I am in a much stronger position to apply for university than I was last year. I would like to express my gratitude for your mentoring and encouragement throughout the last year, my result would not have been possible without your outstanding teaching. I still find myself using the comprehension and analytical skills you helped me develop, and it is a skill I expect to continue to use at university. Thank you for a fantastic year of teaching, I have enjoyed it immensely."

"I managed to somehow get into Oxford and got an A in history which I'm really happy with. I don't know if I was near a boundary or not but heard there was very few A's given out this year for history especially at our college but overall happy! Thank you very much for your help!"

"Thank you! I managed to get into my first choice, University of Exeter, which I`m very happy about. Thank you for all your help over the past year."

"All results are in and I got a B for History. Kings College have accepted my application and I will be taking up my place to study there in September! Thank you so much for everything you have done. I honestly do not think I would have achieved this result if it had not have been for your input and teaching. On top of this, you have inspired and helped prepare me for my undergraduate studies through your teaching and I cannot thank you enough for this."

"I managed to receive a grade A! I'm very pleased with it, and the coursework component seems to have made the difference. Thank you ever so much for all the help and support over the months."

"Attached is my results, I achieved the A in history!! Durham confirmed! Can't quite believe it! Thank you ever so much for improving my grades, my attitude to History and my exam skills. Your help this past year has been invaluable and has had such a positive impact on my sensibilities."

"I got into Durham and got AAB. I got an A in politics so it all went well. Thank you for all the help you gave me."

"I have my place at Bristol, so I`m very happy! Thank you so much for all of your help, I honestly wouldn`t have been able to achieve that grade without having had the sessions with you. What I learnt was hugely valuable to my understanding of the subject, and it improved the way I wrote history essays immensely- I am incredibly grateful!"

"Thank you for helping me!! I got an A in History and am going to Manchester Uni my first choice!! All the structure work and essay writing definitely helped me build my confidence!"

"Thank you Joe! I got into Cardiff! Thank you so much for your help this year! Couldn`t have done it without you :)"

"I have you to thank endlessly because I got an A* in History! Thank you very much."

"Thanks so much! I got an A in politics and a B in History. It would never have happened without you - even my teachers can`t believe it!"

"I got my A!!!! Just wanted to say thank you so much - I definitely couldn`t have done it without you." (History)

"Just thought I`d let you know I got 3A* and a A* in EPQ. In Politics I got 100/100 and 92/100 so very happy! Thank you for all your help over the past 2 years."

"Just wanted to let you know I got an A in my history A level. I got 92% in the resit unit so I was very pleased with this result. Thanks for all your help, it clearly has made a difference."

"Thanks very much for your help this year, and I will carry your advice with me into my History course in Exeter in September." (A-level History, grade: A)

"I got a B in history - so it went up by 2 grades from the last time so thank you so much for all the tutoring I couldn`t have done it without you!" -

"I just wanted to thank you for your amazing history tutoring. I got 99% in my Pitt to Peel re-sit without which I would not have got the grades I needed. Thank you so much."

"I GOT AN A!!! Thank you so much for all of your help, I honestly couldn`t have done it without you!"

"I`ve just got my results and they are enough for me to continue on the recruiting process into the navy. I just wanted to say thank you very much for your time and efforts this year. You were a great teacher and I cannot thank you enough for getting me through this exam."

"I`m just letting you know that I ended with 75 UMS in politics which considering I was incredibly ill on the day of the exam is a great achievement and as a result I got into my first choice university! I`d just like to thank you so much for all your help throughout the year as I couldn`t have achieved this without your help!"

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to one-to-one tuition tailors to the individual needs of each and every student, enabling you to build on your strengths, identify areas for improvement, and achieve that all important grade. With the knowledge and experience gained from my PGCE and over ten years of teaching, I will help you successfully develop your independence, resilience, and skills as a student so that you can take on the challenge of exams with confidence, whilst also preparing you to take on new challenges beyond the classroom.

Personal Description:
I hold a first class degree from the University of Oxford in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. I am currently doing a Master's in Economic Research at Cambridge University and want to be a researcher in economics. Past students in Politics, Economics and Maths A-Level have achieved A/A* in public examinations I taught them for. I have four years tutoring experience. I can help students excel in 7+,11+,13+ and University entrance exams. I can help students achieve top grades in maths, science and English GCSE. I also can help students excel in economics, maths and politics A-Level, as I was a top graduate (in the top 8%) form the University of Oxford in those subjects. I achieved A*AAA at A-Level in Further Maths, History and Politics. I took five AS levels and averaged 94% in them. I scored 10A*s plus an A in additional maths at GCSE at RGS Guildford. I greatly enjoy mentoring and inspiring students to excel in their education. I derived an enormous amount of joy and excitement from my education. It is a wonderful thing to inspire my students to succeed and thrive in their studies. My ambition is to return to the University of Oxford to do a masters and doctorate in economics.

Teaching Experience:

I have four years experience as a private tutor, teaching: GCSE maths, oxbridge applications (interviews, personal statements, general preparation and guidance and the PPE entrance exam), GCSE science (chemistry, biology and physics), english GCSE, politics A-Level, economics A-Level and 11+ and 13+ entrance exams for private schools. I have helped students win places at RGS Guildford, Churcher's College, KCS Wimbledon, Wellington College and places at Oxford University (A student came in the top 1% of Oxford University PPE applicants after private lessons, but was on the 30th percentile in practice exams beforehand). I tutored maths for the 11+ entrance exam and they achieved a commendation for their performance in the exam. I have taught students aged 7-13 at the Kumon maths centre in Haslemere. I have structured revision and school work for students who dropped out of school for their GCSEs, providing home schooling. I inspired many students in maths by accelerating them quickly through the GCSE course.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a surface pro with a pen for online lessons. In economics and maths, I use an online whiteboard which students have permanent access to, to write notes and solutions to exam questions. My approach is to accelerate students as fast as possible through their given course using exam material to deepen and develop their knowledge. I find I can accelerate students rapidly in maths (at GCSE and A-level), whilst they greatly enjoy the subject and the sessions. Students quickly improve at school too, which gives them extra confidence in their talents and capabilities. I set students past papers questions and we resolve any difficulties they had in the session. Iterating through past paper questions in this manner leads to exceptional results: a student of mine came in the top 1% in the entrance exam against Oxford University applicants and gained a place. Similarly, students excel at 11+, 13+, GCSE and A-Level in this manner. Practicing exam material and constantly pushing myself is how I achieved first class hons at the University of Oxford (as well as how I exceled at school), coming top in Game Theory in the exam, so I believe in this approach.

Personal Description:
I am a full-time, professional private tutor with years of experience, and have an immensely successful record with my tutees. I am a former Teaching Fellow at King's College London, with degrees from the universities of London, Jerusalem and Cambridge. Author of 'Israel and the Cold War' (I.B.Tauris, 2013), I review for the Royal Institute of International Affairs and write for several academic journals and newspapers. I was the first recipient of the Mikardo scholarship awarded by the British Foreign Office, and, whilst at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was awarded a Golda Meir Fellowship. Whilst at Cambridge, I won a Donner prize in Atlantic Studies for an essay on the role of the United States in the Falklands' War. In addition to the subjects listed below, I tutor in International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies, and am happy to consider all enquiries within my general areas of interest, and experience. I am also available for dissertation consultation, proofreading, and help in exam and essay writing. As of 2018, my students have won places to, inter alia, Oxford, LSE, UCL, KCL, Birmingham, York, Sheffield, Nottingham and Sussex. I offer both online tuition and tuition in person at a mutually acceptable venue. For peace of mind, I have an enhanced DBS check, and am subscribed to the annual update service.

Teaching Experience:

A former Teaching Fellow at King's College London, and Doctor of Philosophy, I have taught MA courses on the Arab-Israeli conflict, US and British Foreign Policy, War and Peace in the Middle East, and Inter-Faith Relations. A fluent Hebrew speaker, I was Peer Tutor in Hebrew at University College London, where I was awarded the departmental prize for excellence in the Hebrew language. In addition to one-to-one and online tuition throughout the academic year, I also offer intensive tuition during school and university holidays, which both tutees and parents find particularly useful for preparation, consolidation of knowledge and, if need be, to get a tutee back on track.

Tutoring Approach:

Patient, understanding, relaxed, interactive, theme-based, and multi-disciplinary. Use of past papers, both Edexcel and AQA new and old specifications, analysis, evaluation, deconstruction of exam and essay questions, concepts, and requirements. Development of essay and exam structure. I pay particular attention to a student's self-confidence and self-expression, which often serve as catalysts for enhanced self-belief and, hence, success.

Personal Description:
Bonjour!

I hold a double degree in Law and Language Studies from the University of Grenoble Alpes, along with a Master's in International Law. French is my mother tongue, giving me a profound understanding of its structure, nuances, and culture.

Fluent in French, English, Spanish, and Kurdish, I connect easily with learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. With over three years of experience teaching French to international students, I have helped learners at all levels achieve success, whether for exams, professional development, or personal growth. Teaching English in France further refined my ability to adapt lessons to individual needs.

Each lesson is tailored to suit your goals, whether you're preparing for exams (DELF/DALF, GCSE, A-Level), planning a trip to France, enhancing your professional communication, or simply aiming to improve fluency and confidence in conversations. My approach is flexible and focuses on delivering clear, measurable progress.

Passionate about sharing the richness of the French language and culture, I strive to create engaging, effective lessons that inspire learners. From beginners to advanced students, I am dedicated to helping you reach your full potential while making the learning process enjoyable and rewarding..

Teaching Experience:

I've had the chance to teach in a variety of settings, from large groups to one-on-one sessions. For a year, I taught English to a class of 33 first-year law students, designing lessons that focused on the specific language skills they needed in a legal context. I created activities to improve both their written and oral comprehension and regularly assigned homework, which they'd send to me for corrections and feedback.

I also taught a smaller group of 15 students twice a week for a year. This gave me the chance to connect with them more individually and adapt my lessons to their needs.

For the past two years, I've been working with individual students once or twice a week, depending on their goals and level of independence. Each lesson is tailored to their needs, with structured exercises and tasks to help them improve their written and spoken skills. I always make sure to provide regular feedback so they can track their progress and stay motivated.

Tutoring Approach:

I design every lesson to fit each student's unique needs, using a learner-focused approach grounded in proven language acquisition techniques. In our first session, I take time to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. From there, I create a structured learning plan tailored to their specific goals-whether it's building conversational fluency, mastering legal vocabulary, or preparing for exams.

To make learning engaging and effective, I use active strategies like task-based exercises, spaced repetition for vocabulary retention, and scenario-based activities that help students apply their skills in real-life situations. I also create personalized vocabulary quizzes on Quizlet, so students can practice key terms at their own pace and reinforce what they've learned. These interactive methods keep lessons dynamic and ensure steady progress.

To track improvement, I provide study guides, customized assignments, and practice tests. During lessons, I use real-time feedback to adapt our strategies as needed, ensuring each student stays on the right path. My goal is not only to help students achieve short-term success, but also to build their confidence and develop lasting language skills.

I'm flexible with scheduling and work around my students' availability to provide consistent support throughout their learning journey.

Personal Description:
I am a History and Politics tutor, examiner for IB Diploma and formerly, for AQA A-level. Long-term experience, nationally and internationally, as teacher and tutor.

After years of teaching in England and internationally (South America, Japan and Bangladesh), I am currently based in Germany, where I have taught in accredited International Schools for several years.

I have a German/EU extended certificate of good conduct - equivalent to the DBS background check - which also covers the UK. This is available to view on request.

Teaching Experience:

I have developed a specialist approach in one-to-one remote learning for students locally and worldwide, applying current standards of inclusive education for ESL, SEN and Dyslexic learners.

* 25 years experience in the classroom - History, Humanities, Group 3 KS 3-5

* 15 years tutoring one-to-one

* MA in History

* Former HoD History, I/C Humanities faculty

* Examiner

* PGCE and QTS - History and Social Sciences.

* Expertise AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, Cambridge and IB Diploma

Tutoring Approach:

I am available for homeschooling, school support, exam coaching, revision and resits. Short- and long-term tuition is available.

Resources are tailored to the requirements of each tutee and available for sharing on One Drive or Google Drive during the period of paid tuition. I use Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, with additional interactive sites such as One Note.

The first session will be an opportunity to find out more about the type of tuition, the course and the resources that are available. It provides an 'ice breaker' so that tuition can be an enjoyable as well as an effective experience. All standard bookings are made with prepayment, covering 4 hours over a maximal 4-week period*. This keeps a continuity to the planning and confirms the scheduled session without being too rigid. Once a cycle of 4 lessons is complete, you can renew or cancel with no further commitment.

According to past students, I am described as -
• 'informative and entertaining'
• 'calm, punctual and organised'
• 'Listens well, very enthusiastic and encouraging.'

Personal Description:
Outside of teaching, I have a wide range of interests that reflect my creative and lifelong love of learning. I play several musical instruments and enjoy a variety of creative arts including drawing, painting, crochet, cross-stitch and creative writing. I also find great enjoyment in gardening, which allows me to relax and connect with nature.
I am naturally curious, I enjoy watching documentaries and keeping up to date with current affairs.
Most importantly, I value spending quality time with my family and close friends.
These interests help me bring creativity, enthusiasm and a well-rounded perspective to my teaching, allowing me to build positive relationships with students and make learning both engaging and enjoyable.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), specialising in Religious Studies. During my secondary school teaching career, I taught Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level Religious Studies, English and Politics as well as History and Geography at Key Stage 3. This experience enabled me to develop strong subject knowledge and expertise in preparing students for examinations while fostering critical thinking and confidence in their learning.
For the past 12 months, I have also taught across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, delivering engaging lessons in Mathematics, English, Science and Humanities subjects.
Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse range of learners and have extensive experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), teaching children and young people from the ages of 4 to 19.
As a fully qualified teacher with QTS, I am committed to maintaining the highest standards of student welfare and safety. I hold up to date training and certifications in Safeguarding, Prevent Duty, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) Awareness and Allergy Awareness. These qualifications ensure that I am well equipped to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. My extensive experience working with children and young people (including those with SEND) enables me to recognise and respond appropriately to individual needs while promoting wellbeing, confidence and academic success.

Tutoring Approach:

I create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and develop their skills.
I tailor my approach to suit each student's individual needs and learning style. I encourage academic growth, by building confidence, and helping students reach their goals through engaging and effective teaching.
I believe that every student learns differently, which is why I personalise each lesson to suit their individual needs, abilities, and learning style. I take the time to identify each student's strengths, areas for improvement and academic goals, then I tailor my teaching approach accordingly.
Whether a student benefits from visual aids, practice questions, step-by-step explanations or interactive discussions, I adapt my lessons to help them learn effectively.
