I have been tutoring since 2010 and worked as a tutor in schools and for local education authorities. I offer tuition in Maths, Physics and English(ESL) up to and including A-Level. After graduating in Physics from Imperial College i worked as a theatrical actor before obtaining a Masters in Applied Theatre: Drama in the Community and Drama Education. Additionally I have facilitated drama workshops both in England and abroad going as far afield as India. Hello! My name is Gemma and I am a 32 year old doctor, chartered accountant, strategy consultant and successful start up founder. I graduated in medicine from Nottingham University in 2016, switched to finance, became a qualified chartered accountant, and now work for one of the 'Big4' in health advisory and strategic consulting. However, my heart will always lie with the sciences, and somehow in amongst all of my wide ranging career, my favourite job has always been teaching.

Engineering is one of the hardest subjects you can study, and it doesn't help when module content is disorganised, learning materials are messy and hard to follow, and when lecturers are too busy to respond to your questions. My overall aim is to teach you to become an independent learner, to teach you how to learn, so that you can learn regardless of the support from your university, and so you can continue learning when you leave university into whatever career path you take.

Maths is one of the hardest subjects to bluff your way through, and although it's possible to scrape by with a passing acquaintance of the concepts involved, you will never do particularly well without a deeper understanding of the subject. However, this shouldn't be taken as a cause for despair - far from it! I have gained most of my practical teaching experience from my time in the NHS, where I worked as an information specialist.
