I have a dual background in Electrical Engineering and Psychology and retired in 2007 after 20 years as a University lecturer. At different stages in my career I have taught telecommunications engineering, computer programming, software engineering, artificial intelligence and psychology. My lessons are very much dependent on my initial assessment of the students, but usually involve discussions and activities to identify areas that need developing, explicitly teaching the material that students need help with, checking their understanding, then providing lots of opportunities to practise the content, leading to exam practice by emphasising on examination techniques.
