Having started my own music college in South Africa 6 years ago and tutoring students on a one to one basis for the last year in London. My approach to teaching is tailored to each individual. I find just teaching students theory tends to take the Joy of music away ( and Music is first and foremost about joy and love for the art ). At the same time, on the opposite side of the coin not teaching the student any theory can be destructive.
