I am an experienced teacher with qualified teachers status, who has taught in England and abroad. I have been helping children build up the gaps in their learning level since 1994. I am able to discover various learning styles to help children improve their learning. I am currently a supply teacher teaching in Hertfordshire and in Luton. when teaching children on a one to one basis, I usually start by giving them a general assessment on their reading and problem solving skills. After this I am able to plan for each child on an individual basis on how to help them improve their levels and fill gaps in their learning. Due to the large number of students that i help i am not able to travel to children any longer so children come to my home for tuition but only in special circumstances do i travel to a child's home on Sundays . I normally teach the children for an hour and then give them homework for further skill practice. I also help children and parents draw up a reading and learning timetable which is very easy to follow, this has proven to be very effective in the past, in helping children become independent learners. My approach is to be friendly but professional and help children relax in order to enjoy learning.

I really enjoy working with students to help them feel more confident in their subjects. I got all A's in my first year of A level Chemistry, Biology and Maths and am consistently getting A*'s in the second year. I believe that tutoring should be individualized to the needs of individual students and so I do not take a blanket approach with tutoring and I prefer to discuss with my students to arrange a plan of support ideal to them. What I usually do is working 1 topic behind what they do at school and consolidating exam technique on those topics and revising them together or another way to is teach ahead of the syllabus so when they cover it in school it will be like revision for the student.
